Think there had been some ramping or a tip put out somewhere but other than that no idea why the volume, short term traders I suspect who won't be hanging around too long before bailing out again.

I bought the 250k. Saw the volume pick up recently and just bought for a trade. Kind of option money. 0p or 5p. I favour the latter! To be honest, I knew nothing about the company till I bought it. Is the money they hold in the bank theirs, or a securitised loan? Clearly diamonds arent a priority in a recesssion, but those that buy diamonds arent too bothered with recessions imo. The volume surge suggests buyers are now coming in to support the share, as one would expect with a fall from 60p to 1p, unless its a basket case. The turnover suggests it isnt.

Let's see what happens to the share price if they find some more yellow or pink diamonds or perhaps there biggest diamond to date, the spread won't matter then imo

Unless you intend holding long term it will end in tears IMO, these are not for short term trading with the spread

Would rather be in GEMD, half year update next Thurs, look extremely under valued, unearthing large, high quality diamonds, no debt, cash in bank, low PE ratio, lease extension due, at support on chart etc etc

Cant see FDI rising without some good news, ie some large, high quality stones being recovered regularly. If that happens things will change price wise very quickly.

Jack, Only a few trades today so far, and they all look like rollovers to me. Not sure what caused the massive volume yesterday, maybe they were tipped somewhere?

Laptop, I met him a few months ago actually. He's had all year to buy shares if he wants to, and he hasn't been in a closed period for any of that time, and only now MIGHT be in one if they intend to release final results in September. By all means pump away, a few here might be grateful as it could give them a chance to sell a few at a higher price. Without any news I cannot see any reason for this to rise personally.

Ok Andy, i guess u know best. It really does depend on the financial details being discussed with regards insider information. Makes sense to me that the BOD are privy to this information and are in a closed period.

Laptop, "Laptop156 Aug '19 - 18:11 - 3814 of 3815 Moderate | Ban 0 0 0 on-going engagement with debtholders and key shareholders is the reason directors can't buy..." ------- Please see AIM rule 21 in the post above, they can buy unless they are going to release the finals in September again, and cold have bought last week even if they are.

Laptop, Well normally FDI released final results in December, but interestingly last year it was the 30th September for some reason. So, if they are intending to release finals in September this year, according to AIM Rule 21, they have just entered a closed period, if the rule is still 60 days before finals. But they could have bought last week and didn't, so the "closed period" excuse doesn't wash at all in my opinion. They know when they can buy and with a falling share price in need of either good news or some support, a few director buys would have done very nicely, but they chose not to. ------ AIM Rule 21 – AIM Rule 21 previously imposed a requirement on AIM companies to ensure that, except in certain limited circumstances, directors and applicable employees did not deal in the company’s securities during a close period. A close period was defined as the period of 60 days immediately prior to the release of the company’s annual accounts, the period from the relevant financial period end up to and including the time of the publication of half-yearly results (if relevant) and 30 days prior to the release of quarterly results (if relevant), as well as any other time that the company was in possession of unpublished price sensitive information.

on-going engagement with debtholders and key shareholders is the reason directors can't buy...but there will be news and then I'm sure there will be director buying. This company is without doubt very undervalued. Most AIM companies are digging holes, selling a dream that never happens, etc etc and doing placings galore. FDI is is very well cashed up with $26.2 million in the bank so currently very strong with regards CASH. It has a mine that is turning over about just $50 million a year in revenue and a 9 year mine life with possibly a tier 3 on the cards for another 3 year extension. Yes sure it has debt but is fine for the next year or so with DEBT payments deferred until 2020. You can't say that for many aim companies of £5 Million mcap. There is a high possibility of some large diamonds being found and this changes everything. Debt can be paid off etc. Its a producing miner and very low cost with a diamond price recovery its literally a GOLD mine :) anyway I am happy to keep buying as the impatient sell. VERY CONFIDENT I WILL MAKE MONEY on my investment at these bombed out levels.

What were the reasons given? Bosma has publicly said good time to buy if you believe diamond prices will recover. He must have very good reasons not to or does not believe they will.
