18/4/2023 08:22 | Yes, pretty gobsmacked by the lack of response to the news so far. Like you say it is all down to trust. Hopefully the results later this month will also contain some positive noises about going forwards. Must surely be very vulnerable to a takeover at this price, with the market share, relationships, transformational Techem deal, turnaround etc. | tiswas
18/4/2023 08:11 | I think the lack of reaction to this RNS tells us where we are in terms of interest and trust in the company. This is understandable given the myriad issues over the last 4 years +. But if they get the hedging right and can get to profitability this year and at least hit the broker number of 1.4p EPS for 2024, then with this on top we will be much higher than 10p. But with FA the ifs have been very tricky to achieve | harrogate
18/4/2023 07:37 | Very welcome RNS | oldtimer169
02/4/2023 09:45 | I guess the question is does it mean anything? The Company holding the shares seem to be the holding company for all the subsids. Given the recent sterling rates v dollar I would have thought they could have this year hedged at close to $1.20. And be hedging Q1 2024 higher than that. Maybe we will find out where we are at end of April but we might be over the worst. Although they seem to attract problems | harrogate
31/3/2023 16:36 | Ademco is a Resideo company which in turn is a Honeywell spin off. Resideo bought First Alert from BRK brands formerly Newell, I believe, and the 23% shareholding came with it. You might have to google to see if that is spot on but we hasd been waiting some time for the rns to confirm which entity actually owns the shares. | tiswas
31/3/2023 16:15 | You obviously understand the background to the two announcements today: 23.3% of the shares sold by BRK Brands, bought by Ademco. If you are able, can you please comment on whose who & why the deal? | gnnmartin
31/3/2023 16:09 | Nice to see Resideo finally get their act together! | tiswas
20/3/2023 19:16 | Haha not sure about that! It was just that for some reason instinctively expected to see it while still half awake this morning, after previous announcements, and had to go back to check if I'd missed it .As you say, hopefully the omission is nothing of much substance. Wouldn't really expect it to be. | microscope
20/3/2023 15:47 | Gosh: you have an eagle's eye! I hope the omission is not significant. | gnnmartin
20/3/2023 13:44 | Was brooding about that too. Maybe it's just miserable recent market, but also I guess it's missing the phrase they've used on the other milestones.... 'and within budget' | microscope
20/3/2023 13:33 | Even stranger, its gone down on somewhat positive news! | billybunter1970
20/2/2023 15:23 | Strange, gone up on no news! | thaiger
16/2/2023 15:53 | Is there eventually some action here - highest volume for quite a while. | +eysenck
26/1/2023 14:51 | It is hard to argue against the negative view here and my 45% loss testifies to that but I think while too slow to act management have done ok with the hospital pass previous management threw them. I think with sterling at this level and growing sales, margin issues mainly sorted, and thus deal and the German development they are now a bit too cheap. Let's see if the directors think so. They have bought regularly in the past | harrogate
25/1/2023 10:32 | Down close to 50% on the placing price so for any bid to be attractive would need to be a substantial premium to the current share price Given the potential it does look cheap at this level.DYOR | oldtimer169
24/1/2023 16:05 | We just need to be put out of our misery too many years of disappointment. We need a takeover | sebass
24/1/2023 15:57 | Well, as pound strengthens, they go and hedge at 1.14. Overall some progress but still too many excuses. It needs better management - the business has potential, they can't extract it. | yasx
24/1/2023 08:27 | yasx Reading today's results I have to agree with you. With FA if something can go wrong then it goes wrong. I still think there is a good company trying to get out and the only consolation is that the share price has not been clobbered on news for the first time in ages! Two positive broker notes out. | tiswas
13/12/2022 14:34 | Of course they will have hedged 2023 at 1.15!! Sod's Law with these guys | harrogate
13/12/2022 14:30 | Near the top of that 1.17-1.25 range now. | tiswas
22/11/2022 15:15 | Yes, nearly 1.19 today so there is hope. I have not really got a satisfactory answer as to why they were not hedged higher for this quarter and the Downing reviews of their funds performance says FA are NOW hedged, my emphasis. So what makes Downing think they were not hedged before. I think that some of the smaller cap funds that are holders here have performed so badly this year that they would gladly steamroll FA in to a takeover, if they do not see the share price turning around pretty quick. I am hoping that the next update is far more upbeat, but I have been saying that for far too long! | tiswas
11/11/2022 11:06 | In JC's recent presentation he was talking about upgrades and he quoted "when rates were 1.17 - 1.25". We are now re-entering that range so slowly but surely things are starting to turn in our favour again. Fingers crossed. | the big fella
03/11/2022 12:51 | Similar here. I bought at about 70p (IIRC) and failed to sell any at the high because I thought they were a very decent hold paying a good dividend. What stop me buying more (apart from lack of cash!): I could not understand the pivot from enthusiasm about the future and the mode of separation from the USA to being sued by the USA. I don't like being unable to understand what goes wrong, it might be my fault or it could be because I am not getting a straight story. | gnnmartin |
