Hmmm - be interesting to see how the Coke version of Fevertree goes down! The full sugar version may compete but, unlike Fevertree, Coke have never really cracked getting taste out of low sugar drinks, so we'll see if they manage it here. I wonder if there is Stevia in the light version. Agree putting 1783 on the bottle won't do much for many people. It will need to taste BETTER than Fevertree. Franklin and Son and Fentimans have failed on that front so far in my opinion. If premium Schweppes doesn't reverse the downward trend it wouldn't be surprising if our friends in red and white launch a sneaky t/o bid for FEVR. Interesting times!

The new five-strong range of naturally flavoured premium mixers – Schweppes 1783, is being rolled out now in new 200ml skittle-shaped glass bottles featuring a golden Schweppes sash and black livery.

Schweppes reveals biggest UK investment in 200 years
By Lisa Riley
Published: 03 October, 2017

...With off-trade sales totalling £68.2m, Schweppes continues to be the top brand, but Fever-Tree is snapping at its heels. So much so, that if the pioneering premium mixers brand, which saw sales soar by £27.6m – a 14% jump – to £46.4m in the past year, can continue to grow at even half this level, it will be competing for the number one brand position in the off-trade next year (IRI 52 w/e to 22 July, 2017).

The “unprecendented” marketing support would encourage trial of the new 1783 range and drive sales, with the last quarter of 2017 poised to be massive for the brand, said Simon Harrison, customer marketing director GB at Coca-Cola European Partners...

[Schweppes rebrands tonics and creates new flavours]

02-Oct-2017 By Nicholas Robinson

Tonic water brand Schweppes has overhauled its image and developed a new range of flavours, the biggest activity in its recent history, which will be backed by a £6.6m marketing campaign.

Incidentally, 'A history of Schweppes' {pdf}, mentioned in the above article maybe worth a read:

Villarich,
100% agree.
No Fevertree drinker will switch to Schweppes...1783(?!) cos it's not a 'cool' brand.
Imho you can't take a downmarket brand upmarket.

Hi all,

I'm not in FEVR myself (much tears !!) but I find it an interesting one. Anyway, most Weekends I do a Charts Blog where I look at various Stocks and Indexes and I had a good look at FEVR yesterday. Long story short, it strikes me the Analyst EPS Forecasts etc. look really low - this could mean potential for Upgrades.

You can find my Blog here:

Hope you find it useful,oh, if the Growth Model thing confuses you there is another Blog a few days before which explains the logic,

Cheers, WD

Coca-Cola overhauls Schweppes in bid to ‘future proof’ the business

Coca-Cola is refreshing its Schweppes brand, as well as launching a range of ‘craft’ premium mixers called Schweppes 1783, as it looks to increase its standing among adult consumers.
By Leonie Roderick 2 Oct 2017

...The investment, its biggest in the UK in more than 200 years, aims to give the brand “a new beginning” as part of a 15-month campaign to reinvigorate the brand...

Hopefully a bit of sanity returning to the SP, and this board. Let's hope it continues!Villarich - I am of a similar mindset to you... but I need to keep saying to myself 'don't argue with a fool as people watching won't know who the fool is!'

There have been a few sell offs in the last year - March and June. Yes this one has been bigger but you have to factor in the near 50% rise since results in July. The price was always going to cool off at some point but as pervious posters say, the story hasn't changed so I won't be selling just yet. There seems to be a wider sell off on some of these high PE growth stocks that have gone through the roof this year. Look at BOO. Raises full year guidance by 20 percentage points and it's down 25%! PRSM, IQE too.

Christh - as always your post makes no sense...You say I am a big liar who owns no shares, then that I'm big boaster sitting on a profit. I disclosed my positions because you said I held no shares. Where have I claimed I know everything? And what are you going on about being caught out?You are a special one Christh. Take your tin hat off and stop watching conspiracy vids on YouTube.

Villarich
biggest liar.
He does not own a single share , yet he boasts owning thousands at £6,£7 and anything below £20.

Big show off that he knows all and is sitting on a big profit.
Yet where is being caught lying is the contrarian view on the stock!

Beware of dishonest people in ADVFN boards.

f880 - you must be evil shorter bad man thinking price go down. How many shares do you own? Probably zero! Look at the last statement! Look at institutional investors! Every Chinese man and Indian man will be buying cases of fevertree! They are doubling profit every year. This will go to £30.;-)

Long term holders need to stay calm here. The price has just got ahead of itself and people are panicking over the sudden drop. Nothing has changed, focus on the story. This is the stock market. You need to have the resilience to handle short term fluctuations.

Was hoping to find some sensible analysis here, what on earth was I thinking? I guess there's one on every small cap/growth share board: an investor who's put far too many eggs in one basket and has fallen in love with the share leading to a complete lack of objective analysis and relentless howling at the moon. Textbook.

My back of an envelope TA says that FEVR is heading back to £20 where the 100 day SMA is and perhaps as far as £17-18 in the area of the 200 day SMA and the launch point gap up in July. This is a high risk momentum share driven mainly by sentiment, and once sentiment senses a serious correction is on the cards money comes off the table in short order.

Any accountants out there who can rationally support the valuation on fundamentals?

Christh- ah, ok, remind me which one of your recent posts explain the price drop? It just seems like market movement i.e. More sellers (either nervy ones cashing in their chips, or those trying to push the price down) than there are buyers at the mo. Nothing anywhere to suggest that the next news will be bad!

Here here Juzzer. I've been on this board for a while and I've not seen or come across anyone who is not a long term holder or sees nothing but upside in the company.
