"Live at the seminar on Monday I bought some FairFX (ffx). We discussed this one quite a bit - the outlook seemed perky for this challenger banking and payments brand biz.

It recently bought Cardone and offers retail and business accounts. Profits are flying high here.

At the seminar we discussed that investors just won't buy shares that have gone up a lot, they only buy ones that have gone down. I was perfectly happy to buy much
higher than they have been and was rewarded yesterday with an excellent statement that has pushed the shares higher."

Up late last night but nice to wake up (eventually) to another strong set of results here.

Despite the numerous headwinds (weak sterling, hot summer & the dreaded B word) they seem to be making excellent progress on all fronts, with 911k customers & turnover of 472k in July & Aug alone.

No ahead statement but confidently in line good enough for me as the substantial increase in revenue starts to flow down to the bottom line.

FairFX, the e-banking and international payments group, announces its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2018.

Financial highlights:

· Group turnover(1) of £1,067.4 million (H1 2017: £434.8 million), an increase of 146% (23% on a like-for-like basis)

· Group revenue of £12.0 million (H1 2017: £6.1 million), an increase of 97% (15% on a like-for-like basis)

· Gross profit of £9.7 million, an increase of 100% (H1 2017: £4.8 million)

· Adjusted EBITDA(2) of £2.7 million (H1 2017: £0.2 million)

· Adjusted PBT(3) of £2.6 million (H1 2017: £0.2 million)

· Adjusted net profit margin increases by a factor of 10 to 21.9% (H1 2017: 2.7%)

Lomax99 did you also see the IC article about the disruptors? A set of very tough parameters was set for high growth stocks with only 6 qualifying on all counts. Naturally FFx was one of the chosen.

IC ST comment:Shares in FairFX have kicked on since my last update on Crystal Amber ('Amber alert for more gains', 10 Jul 2018), and justifiably so. If FairFx can maintain its heady progress – transactions processed for clients through its e-banking and foreign exchange services platforms surged by 22 per cent on a like-for-like basis in the first half – and lift turnover by half to £43.4m in 2019, then pre-tax profit could more than double to £16.2m. This implies the shares trade on a 2019 forward PE ratio of 15.5. My 200p target price for FairFx is very reasonable in light of its high growth potential.
