Capital Economics: 31st Jan 2024. We forecast global lithium demand will roughly double by 2025 ( from 2022 ) But supply will increase at a slower pace, which is why we forecast prices will rise. Perhaps WH Ireland fair value view of 184p isn’t too overly optimistic.

Nice little tick up in anticipation perhaps for.....

The EU soon to announce the 17 strategic projects.

Review findings expected before the end of April outlining significant improvements and developments.

Giga factory news.

Bought at 14p and could not be happier 👍

No placing inbound here. Cash is sufficient to last well into Q3 and the conclusion of the DFS, Offtake and project funding. More cash to be raised after those milestones are hit is my understanding.

I’m afraid you’re probably right, quite a prominent RNS for proving up an already tested process, albeit in the lab. If they do a placing before the DFS what will that doesn’t bode well!

Thanks for the clarification and your subsequent post.Seems to be every reason to top up which as usual pour moi means averaging down. It's a bit of a no brainier really if the resource is there and is of the quality stated. It's a bit like Thacker Pass in the States ie located in a country which badly needs a secure source of lithium and where you are not in any way beholden to China.

Getting on for 4m daily volume, and its only mid day. We haven't seen volume as high as this since 2020, just before the share price went on a rocket!

Well if the share price does this on relatively little new news, just imagine what on offtake plus funding would mean. Can KC actually deliver after all his bluster

Incidentally the reason for my belief in the increased production is based on the following. With a politically difficult permitting process it made sense to keep the size of the project small and based on one day shift. Now with the ECRMA simplifying and facilitating the permitting process that political difficulty is reduced, and with the potential for a domestic gigafactory still live the political risks from higher production are much reduced. Imho.

This I think was the original valuation from a while back, and was well reasoned, but dependent on numerous assumptions which will have changed over time. Plenty of negatives, mainly around cost, concern over pricing structure, and interest rates for example. But positives including proof of process, EU support for permitting and funding, and a more thorough/comprehensive DFS process. Net effect on price target probably slightly negative, but not by as much as the market is pricing in. BUT and this is a big caveat, the original valuation was based on production of 30k tonnes pa, whereas many of us still believe the final outcome will be a doubling of this figure - and with high fixed costs and relatively low variable costs this dramatically changes the valuation, and makes the original 184p target conservative. Time will tell...
