Slightly odd price reaction today given lithium rally and positive move on ASX

There are bear and bull points here…
Bear, price of Lithium has collapsed. DFS becoming ‘last minute’, due this qtr. AGM after close of business before Xmas?
Bull, huge resource in Central Europe, supported by Czeck government and EU, location has Power, water, transport and politically safe.
Obviously many more things to consider on all sides but there’s a fair bit of buying going on this am, is it a nod to the direction of travel from COP28, or are some believing the sell off is overdone?

I think KC must be mulling over his resignation letter. I think his VW master plan has crashed and there will be an inevitable delay just when the lithium price is cratering. Or maybe he is a really skilled poker player with a full house in hand

Just keeping an eye on prices, but think the fall is overdone.

Hope not if I've got my numbers right! From EMH's PFS . . . Net estimated overall cost of production post credits: $3,435 / tonne LiOH.H2O. So $3.5 per kg. Fastmarkets' daily price assessment for lithium hydroxide monohydrate LiOH.H2O 56.5% LiOH min, battery grade, spot price cif China, Japan & Korea was $18-19 per kg on November 30

Could be they are having problems with the numbers, with the price of Lithium falling everyday!

CEO has gone quiet. Hopefully that means he's finalising deals rather than talking about them

Stellantis is assembling a roster of partnerships to ensure a stable, low-carbon supply of key materials for its electrified future. So let's hope they do the deal for Cinovec supply and leave VW stranded

Atlantic Lithium turns down bid from largest shareholder at 65 per cent premium. Maybe CEZ might just do something similar here. Now would be a good time to strike

Well the CEO has promised to deliver quite a lot in the next month or so. He hasn't rowed back despite the VW setback so we will see his poker hand soon enough

Invinity Lithium up 40 per cent after the award of an €18.8 million grant from the Spanish Government for the advancement of the San José #Lithium Project. EMH much better asset IMHO

Although the news is good and another box ticked, it is not enough in today's climate. Only significant news such as the release of the DFS, EU sorting out its critical metals policy, offtake news is going to shift the spot price. Hidden in yesterday's DB conference, it was reported that they have been turning down offtake enquires from Asian end users. Now that is significant . . .

Yup, market very subdued, many feel safer in cash for now, but there are some stocks that look good value. Patience here I’m sure this will end the week up!

Muted reaction to an important validation re the quality of the asset. CEO presentation yesterday also revealed they have declined offtake agreements with Asian players in favour of European buyers. Hinted that offtake news should be ahead of DFS. That means soon.
