02/6/2009 16:17 | well take a look at their turkish JV partner, AAU, Ariana, its a great little company if you can handle the risks and liquidity. | kent_paul
26/5/2009 15:15 | i was listening to last week's jim puplava's financial sense podcast and the precious metals person seemed to think that EGU might be bid for by a mid-cap producer this year. | kent_paul
22/5/2009 13:12 | Thats an interesting question and one thats probs best left to EGU to answer over time but it does sound very promising thats for sure. | eric76
22/5/2009 12:55 | The results weren't the best but the sp, ultimately, keeps going northwards. Might be a correction to last year's decline but wouldn't be surprised if there is much more to come from that comment within the final results:- "In total, the EM survey has now identified or confirmed a total of 28 kilometres of conductive anomalies, some of which host known mineralisation. To put this in context, the massive sulphide reserves at Stratoni and Olympias have a strike extent totalling two kilometres". Could this really be 14 times what they already have there? Long term (and possibly short) is all fine imo. | mcmather
15/5/2009 14:11 | Not a bad guesstimate they opened at 166p dropped to 164p where they bounced nicely, strangely enough off both their 50 and 100 day m.a. With gold doing well and their numbers behind them perhaps they're getting ready for a bit of a leg up again. | eric76
14/5/2009 01:21 | Yuk, very weak close in Canada. They will probably open around 170p in the morning. | kickstart
07/5/2009 09:24 | Not sure KS. Like most it went down through 2008, matters exacerbated due to the price of metals lowering, before it began to recover in Oct 08. Much news to follow according to final results including the following from Greece:- "In total, the EM survey has now identified or confirmed a total of 28 kilometres of conductive anomalies, some of which host known mineralisation. To put this in context, the massive sulphide reserves at Stratoni and Olympias have a strike extent totalling two kilometres". They've got money to last them beyond 2009 even without any sales, gold reserves in excess of 10m oz, they own 20% of a small cap in Turkey (Ariana) which gives them a foothold there, they are improving efficiency, etc, etc. Think it (the sp) is just rectifying itself though, that said, you could still be right re the Q1 results due next tuesday. | mcmather
07/5/2009 09:08 | Wow ! there must be a large purchase not showing yet given the price jump. Not a lot of interest on this board for the share which is one of the reasons I bought in. | kickstart
01/5/2009 12:48 | From the 2008 results (19 March 09):- "Stratoni exploration Exploration completed on the western and down-dip extensions of the Mavres Petres orebody is expected to add to reserves at least replacing what was mined in 2008. Final figures will be published in the near future". News soon, hopefully. | mcmather
30/4/2009 09:29 | i'm torn between this and cey. happy for get some comments guys | max101
24/4/2009 15:54 | Chiese have put 1.5% of currency reserves in to gold. European bank recommends 15%, who knows what it means but must be a positive for gold. | maxim1999
24/4/2009 12:33 | Made my first foray into these today. Another producer share that got crushed late last year and has only partially recovered. Looks like they have some interesting assets , a nice quiete b/b ( a positive for me ) and thinly traded which can exagerate price movements. I like the political risk wth the assets being within Europe. | kickstart
06/4/2009 16:40 | If confidence starts to reappear about the Global economy, gold could lose its 'lustre' in the short term ! | jane seymour
06/4/2009 16:21 | Bouncing nicely. | eric76
06/4/2009 15:30 | Thanks for that link Percy. Haven't done a lot of research on these but what I have read reads well. Getting a few buyers too as golds settling down a bit I'm wondering if this would be a good time to pick a few up? | eric76
10/3/2009 13:37 | How much gold production do these guys currently have and at what cost? What's it ramping up to? Can't seem to find the info on the website. | wankee bernanke
06/3/2009 15:49 | Looking a bit oversold; golden cross SMA200/SMA50; bouncing off trendline support. Chart looks fine IMHO: free stock charts from www.advfn.com | meljohn
25/2/2009 12:36 | Back in to EGU today @172.5, only made 7% on LLOY and i must say i am glad to be out. I intend to be holding EGU for quite some time. | jimmy321
19/2/2009 17:30 | I agree Bank shares are high risk atm, LLOY looks a bit under valued, i am looking to sell at 66p which would make me 20%. | jimmy321
19/2/2009 15:07 | LLOY doing pretty well today, Jimmy! Bank shares too risky for me, though. With gold set to rise it's certainly how I regard it, swag, but it's your money. | meljohn |
