24/10/2017 09:40 | I'm giving it one more planning meeting to get this TMP through. After that I'm out. The evidence from the last meeting was that Tim Hall no longer approves of the manner in which Europa have handled their TMP application. And that article speaks volumes (nothing similar was said after the August meeting).Other councillors spoke against the TMP for the first time, and the most supportive councillor who was in favour of the TMP last time, seemed resigned to another deferral, from the outset of the meeting. His very downbeat demeanour contrasted with the confidence of those in favour of deferral (and even rejection of the TMP).This all suggests to me that un-decided councillors had been persuaded to vote for another deferral prior to the meeting starting. To reverse this situation, without Europa digging a bigger hole, is going to take a lot of effort. The next meeting will be my last as perhaps the situation is now irretrievable. Difficult to see where Europa goes from here. | itsriskythat
24/10/2017 09:31 | Jus, Im not interested in my peer group it is theirs I am interested in - perhaps you could find out ie the peer group share price performance which they judge themselves again - with regard to their options or 'other' bonuses? Re committee - I dont care - this has been going on for too long and smells of mis-management - imho! Prospects - no value added to date - are we flogging a dead horse here? I want to see farm outs not talk and what appears to be 'too early' marketing to be of any real use for partners in current environment - all imho of course. Cheers. | dunderheed
24/10/2017 09:00 | Judging from a trip I made a few days ago a significant percentage of these cars are jamming the roads around Gatwick, and presumably Dorking as well. We need petrol to put in them, not to mention electricity for the endless housing and industrial estates all the way from the south coast to the M25. Personally I think this planning process is entering Alice in Wonderland territory. | rogerlin
24/10/2017 08:59 | We can only go on results. It's a fail so far this year in anything that might add value. | guesswhosback
24/10/2017 08:41 | Jus unfortunately and respectfully, your message 5959 is wrong on so many counts. 1. What has 'he' done on Holmwood and I feel a different mgr could have got a better result sooner? At least other companies sent their own (senior) reps. 2. ...I always judge someone's performance by considering who we could find that could perform the job better and as far as I can see there are no suitable candidates... - are you really kidding me - it is not his job to find a successor and anyone who thinks this is the case or is not aware of (potential) personal influences or conflicts that could 'taint' such a process is beyond 'inexperienced'. 3. Can you itemise what 'value adding' prospects he has brought on board since his arrival? 4. Let's see the P&L soon and the G&A costs and determine then, how value adding this 'mgt' is. 5. I do not expect any of their options to crystallise because when you compare this share price to respective peer group (which is ultimately what the comparisons should be - not opinions about efforts or 'other things') it looks to me, to have been very lower quartile pfmce. Perhaps you can share with us these comparisons? 6. I certainly hope he isn't charging your lunches to business expenses because this would really upset me, as a part owner of the business. All imho of course and not wishing to appear rude but I feel relevant points! | dunderheed
24/10/2017 08:30 | Mr Pasty, Comeon fella, these nimbys don't want this well so they'll try to shift the blame away from themselves. I personally don't place the blame for the mire our active assets are in on Hugh's door. Its 100% due to their councils actions. I guess they're right to an extent though with the appearance of the anti frac mob its clear the population don't have a clue about either Wressle nor Holmwood, so a bit of information may clarify their confused opposition. Hopefully hardsoft or Broughton won't be in these anti-progress council areas. At least noone can protest the eventual drilling near Corrib. Regards, Ed. | edgein
24/10/2017 08:02 | First of all Mr CP that is a newspaper report which is skewed in favour of sensationalism. If Mr Hall actually said those words then he (Mr Hall) has a problem but I would imagine he was a bit more guarded than that. Engagement with the committee poor? Our planners job is to engage with the SCC Planners not the committee. Hugh's (and EOG's) journey to this point in Holmwood planning has been long and extremely tiresome for all parties. There has been a winner (us) and two losers (the SCC AND The planning inspector) We may well be seeing a little backlash from sore losers. Very difficult for EOG as well to engage with the local community when they claim to be represented by the LHAG who haven't really acquitted themselves well in dealing with the planning authorities and seem to be oblivious to the fact - even after all this time - that this is a conventional well site and does not include fracking. How can you communicate with people who can't grasp basic concepts like that? However I do accept Mr Hall's suggestion that we could do better and I recommend to Hugh to appoint a community liaison officer selected from local residents. That would be the perfect solution and I hope Hugh recognises that there will be more work to be done in the lcoality (not necessarily Leith Hill) should the well be successful. To have someone at the helm of EOG like Hugh who has had the perseverance to push through to this stage on Holmwood is pleasing to me as others may well have given up. I think he has done a good job since his arrival and he does set us aside from our local competition as a serious Oil Exploration company with plenty of big name contacts and partners. I always judge someone's performance by considering who we could find that could perform the job better and as far as I can see there are no suitable candidates. With Holmwood, Wressle coming soon and a host of other prospects he has brought on board since his arrival I think he remains the best man for the job (as ong as he buys me lunch when we meet again ;-) | jusmasel99
23/10/2017 21:14 | Is it time for Hugh to fall on the sword? Oil drilling near Leith Hill 'at risk of not happening' as company seen to be 'difficult and awkward' Europa Oil and Gas (UK) Ltd's CEO has defended the company's position after a Surrey councillor said they a key committee had "low confidence" in them Tim Hall, chair of the council’s planning committee, was damning of Europa Oil and Gas (UK) Ltd's "lack" of engagement with the local community at a meeting on Wednesday (October 18) and believes "[Europa's] approach is all wrong". He said: "[Europa] have been reluctant to engage with residents, parish councillors and the community since making promises 18 months ago. "It’s been difficult to get information out of them as they’re engagement with the committee has been poor." Cllr Hall said a failure to communicate with residents will mean Europa does not understand the "quite serious concerns" of people living in Coldharbour. | currypasty
23/10/2017 20:42 | That sums up my comments really. Overpaid Directors achieving nothing but stress to investors and even protesters.Who are we supposed to believe in? | guesswhosback

23/10/2017 19:00 | Had a hard decision to make this morning. Buy more EOG or take a punt on one I have researched HZM a TSX-listed nickel development company focussed in Brazil. I went for HZM for the long term..... I will be adding to EOG because IMHO the share price just may retrace further and could be bought at a lower price than today's offer price of 5.50p per share. That may just happen until we have a clearer picture what SCC Planning Committee does with the planning application for the drill for a Holmwood well. Scheduled now for Q1 2018. 23/10/2017 15:37 | Dont think so Mr CP - there was a move from UKOG and ANGS to here a while ago and the news from ANGS has attracted them there again. AGM is usually held in December Mr Potter. Surprised no comment on what I posted over the weekend. A fellow EOG investor sent something similar to the Leader of North Lincs council and had an immediate response saying he notes the contents but can't intervene. My guess is he will be talking to his planning officers today! The planning inspector has to override our consultants, North Lincs planning officers (twice), the Environment Agency AND STRICT Government guidelines if North Lincs are to win the day. I think they will not only lose and pay our costs but also face a severe reprimand for wasting the inspector's time. While the inspector's decision has to be reviewed legally hence the wait after the hearing and also it is the inspector's duty to provide for conditions my guess is that we will have a very clear indication of how he intends to rule during the hearing - maybe even on the first day. | jusmasel99
23/10/2017 14:39 | It looks like some larger sells going though, fortunately some buying to even things up... perhaps some sellers are just fed up of all the knock backs | currypasty
23/10/2017 13:31 | share price holding up well I see. Perhaps Hugh should take some notice of this rather than career making blue sky potential? | dunderheed

23/10/2017 11:57 | Could someone please list the dates of events/news relevant to EOG in the next couple of months. I think there are two Council Planning meetings and the AGM. but I'm not sure of the dates or if there are others. Thanks. | hpotter

23/10/2017 10:09 | I believe Alan Stones at SCC, who had caused so much grief for Angus, is no longer their development control manager. Didn't Tim Hall welcome the new development manager at the start of last week's planning meeting? Don't know his name. No coincidence then that Angus have finally moved forward with Brockham. | itsriskythat
23/10/2017 09:46 | The Brockham X4Z sidetrack, drilled to a total depth of 1,391m, was planned to enable the continued production from the Portland reservoir and assess the hydrocarbon potential of the Corallian and Kimmeridge formations at Brockham. Preliminary results from Brockham X4Z confirm Kimmeridge layers at Brockham with gross thickness of some 385m and the same maturity as the adjacent Horse Hill discovery. The two naturally fractured limestone intervals that tested successfully at Horse Hill are also seen in the Brockham X4Z, making a total section of roughly 200m thick, interbedded, naturally fractured, limestones and shales that the Company is working on to place in to production. This is what they said in interims end June, does mention the Portland but they now seem to be more interested in the Kimmeridge. Have to wait and see what can be produced! | rogerlin |
