OK - apart from not turning up which I agree (at last) may at least have appeased some of our shareholders - what else could Hugh have done and more to the point what more could anybody else have done? This is really nothing to do with planning - we all know that - the councillors were only there to please their constituents as well as their own beliefs. We don't get to choose our jury in local planning issues - the electorate does and today is more food for the argument to deprive councils of the pleasure of deciding what should be national strategic applications.

Rayrac,
Have you been up close to any of the onshore wind turbine lorries ? These seem to negotiate the minor roads of Scotland and Wales without bringing the world to a stop. No chance of wind turbines in the Home Counties of course.

HPotter, i think you’ll find a big difference between farm and forestry land in price and tenants. Customers different too!

I don’t care how long they’ve held the site, they are trapped in a one way access road system, with no width. Akin to trying to drill the top of Snowdon.

Point taken JUs but we are constantly blaming others when its the management that hold the cards. They are paid to sort this and they are not performing.

I hold a lot of shares here and have done for a while. Nothing has worked yet, so it gets very disheartening to hear that our CEO couldn't even turn up to face the music. If it was my company, I would be there, wouldn't you? Oh sorry you were!

Its only 27 days to the next meeting. Always look on the bright side of life.

And at least the spikes are getting smaller and the valley taller. You could make a decent living trading EOG on the back of failed planning committee meetings.

Hugh can't release an RNS until he has been told officially and that means SCC have to make up a reason for their deferral that may have some legal ground because what I heard at the meeting doesn't.

As for Sanderson - did anyone hear his comment to the chap sitting next to him who I assume was winding him up - "At least I don't have a beard" . What a put down. I don't think sitting in front of a committee and reading a prepared statement had anything to do with the decision. No questions asked says it all. They were briefed obviously.

Remember that EOG have history with SCC and have cost them a lot of money in the past with the appeal and High Court ruling. I don't think the chairman has forgotten that but on the other hand he is making a good fist of it going down the same route again.

Curry I am sure you are getting there but I've been saying this for ages. The 'mgt' (I use that term loosely) of eog simply aren't up to the job.
Rather than farm out our producing assets and concentrate on blue sky stuff land the real prospects that they can control and then having got these worked through the conveyor belt/hopper then concentrate more on bigger less quantifiable projects!!

All imho of course but just comment sense as well?!

Forestry Commission land is farmland, but the crop takes about 40 years to grow & harvest.

Curry,

You could make a handsome living if you setup as Community Liason Officer representing all the UK E&Ps that are having trouble with PP.

perhaps its time to bring some professional help in to negotiate with the council, talk to the locals/oposers, and answer all their bloody stupid queries..
EOG were criticised several times in the meeting, if Huge isn't up to this part of the job, bring in some help!!!!!!!!!!!!

GWB - only the planners were allowed to speak. Rayrac the site was chosen years ago for good reasons. The Kimmeridge wasn't thought about then.

In any event he could only have spoken BEFORE the councillors discussed it as in any application. As it is there are several ways forward including legal options but I am sure we will have to wait and see what they have actually referred. It is certainly only one item as opposed to the 4 they were meeting to discuss today.

Hugh wasn't there because he is obviously tying up some big Irish deals. All imho of course, lol!
Anyone else starting to come around to my thoughts that big Hugh is best concentrating on what we have rather than blue sky or we will end up placing monies again to pay for their salaries!
Again all imho!

Well, UKOG are in the clear! But eog should have made it easier for themselves by choosing a bit of farm land, not smack in the middle of an area of natural beauty! Sorry guys, but there are limits to what’s allowed!

Why can’t they show a bit of common? Like I said, if the Weald is that prolific why choose a no no ffs?
