19/7/2005 18:05 | where have i trashed your thread spectrum. Just posted my view on EKT. Is there anything wrong with that ? | nineoneone
19/7/2005 17:32 | I think it's a bit much having a go at the knockers of this stock. There were clearly serious problems and inexperience may have led those up the wrong path. Their huge debts and contract losses were the death knell and nothing else. I don't think they relayed the seriousness of their problems to shareholders properly and many thought they would pull through and kept buying. Directors find it difficult to admit failure and we have all been caught out in this game, some have been downright dishonest but there is little you can do. | isis
19/7/2005 17:28 | momentos ? -------------------- Wherever Spectrum7, Fusebox, LordButterstock & Loverat get together other investors SHOULD beware. See several other threads. -------------------- Cant wait for you to point out one of these threads i am involved in ? | spectrum7
19/7/2005 17:28 | Not sure 911 - Wondering whether a little bit of time is now good re . administration ie 2 or more interested parties 'fighting it out' or if as all have said, time delays will make the business suffer further (if thats possible. I assume that interested parties will be offering x pence in the pound for liabilties and then just taking over - wonder what it will take if at all for an interested party to take it 'warts and all' and include shareholders. Miracle I guess. Still wondering what needs to be done by any prospective buyer to get the benefits of the losses in tax benefits. Finally, do we the shareholders get a say in anything at all? Any ideas crew.... | chiansaw
19/7/2005 17:26 | Well 911 What a busy day you have had trashing my thread.......and you have a go at fusebox......lol | spectrum7

19/7/2005 16:26 | just read those 2 translations. is the one dated 19th saying there should be more news end of this week and there has been a lot interest for the group ? | nineoneone
19/7/2005 16:24 | well done momentos...........o | edward3
19/7/2005 16:21 | Happy to oblige. If anything, this thread is being maintained so news on the administration etc outcome can be shared. Thats why I posted the Dutch news items early today and why Ed W kindly re-added the newsflow. Personally I would also rather not spend my time fighting with the "interested non-investors". | momentos

19/7/2005 15:44 | lol, you mean the fair comment about an NMS of 400 quid and a spread of 7%? Please do forward it to ADVFN. As I have said on the EKT thread, I will keep away as long as you keep your own pets under control. | momentos

19/7/2005 15:25 | ok here guys, thanks for the comments. Coming to terms with losing my investment in this stock and getting back to some sort of normality. As stated before I wont be looking to invest in the market for a very long while. take care and hope your future investments are very much more fruitful than this one. | ed winchester
19/7/2005 15:21 | Er, your point Mr G H? | momentos

19/7/2005 14:32 | The statement madea round the time of the Phillips sontract loss was very misleading. They claimed to have a viable business and were confident of winning the missing business elswhere. Obviously things were far more precarious than they made out and the takeover thing was a last desperate fling. This is a classic downward spiral and you don't have to go far to dind similar companies that have behaved the same way. Generally those kind of profit warnings are the death knell and I've seen it time and again - very few escape the guillotine with those kind of debts in a saturated market. | isis
19/7/2005 14:24 | Cheers Ed W. Hope you are well. | momentos
19/7/2005 14:13 | nineoneone, I disagree totally about abacus (wrong board so my last post). They are in a much more solid financial position than eurodis ever was. Eurodis hasn't made a profit for 3-4 years (or more?) but abacus has been consistently profitable. The dividend is still well covered by earnings (reducing dividend is a prudent, sensible action). As for the stock writeoff, this is due to the lead-free regulations. Sure the leaded components will be dumped and replaced by lead-free but these will be sold on to customers (hopefully). There is only one hit. I hate to think how eurodis would have coped with this. Abacus may very well merge with another company, or be bought, but unlike eurodis they will do so from a position of strength. | kiwihope
19/7/2005 14:08 | Take your point NineOneOne. I did feel that ELH was doing it's damnedist to turnaraound, so sad to see it fail. | scumdog
19/7/2005 13:20 | kiwi, thats what eurodis did (maintain div even though bad trading persisted) but then they just fell foul to the trading environment and debt. It doesnt 'look' like abu will go the same way but you'd be surprised how quickly things like debt catch up with them. They are writing off the redundant stock (due to new regulations), but these will have to be replaced. If there is no quick recovery in the market I feel the only way for abu is to sell itself to a competitor or merge. | nineoneone |
