27/7/2005 09:43 | These cases highlight the need for negative posts on these boards. People often get hounded off for posting a negative view - their are a number of stocks that are clearly having problems and some posters simply refuse to accept. Detailed analysis of the negatives of any company can save us all a packet in the long run. | isis
27/7/2005 09:37 | Ditto Cross - bit of a change to scalping for your tax disc! Same as Jordaggy, no blame attcahed to anyone bar myself - the BB was a good one, and see nothing wrong woth taking a positive stance on the various issues that arose - up to me to have made my mind up. Ultimately the share price did the talking, and in hindsight I still would have backed ELH - not on the same scale tho! If miracle of miracle happens and lets say ELH get a backer and co. maintain move to profitablity in 2006 with Phillips/AN Other back on board - would one still hold? | chiansaw
27/7/2005 09:35 | Many thanks Atomic...I've somehow managed to avoid self assessment forms...though a 40%er ?? does this mean I'll need to contact the tax office and get a form sent to me TIA. | jordaggy
27/7/2005 09:09 | jordaggy - tax losses for CGT purposes can roll on until you make a gain which can then be offset. However, you have to claim the loss on your self assessment tax form for the year in which it occurs. Very important to get this right otherwise you will lose it. It does cushion the blow a lot as in effect your loss will be reduced by 40% | atomic dog
27/7/2005 09:07 | Good luck crossfire...also lost a load..but there IS still a tiny glimmer.... " temporarily suspended " comes to mind..... ( altho I aint hanging on to it! )...be happy. | galleon
27/7/2005 08:45 | Stop beating yourselves up guy's - I lost a packet on ELH but don't blame anyone but myself ! - and DR for giving false hope in the way of 'between the lines' rns's...how long can you offset the losses against profits for CGT purposes ? is it the current year or does it roll on for several - it will take me seveal years to recoup from this loss. *¬( | jordaggy
26/7/2005 23:31 | Thanks for your post Cross...for the the last few years I've been positive about Eurodis - I must have posted hundereds of articles about the wider sector - but it seems it all came to nothing. I am sorry about that. | mike012321

26/7/2005 17:50 | I had one go bust on me several years - Eagle Trust, I did get something back about 8 years later, I bought two pints with it! LOL A small consolation I spose ,the CEO did get four years, not enough really though. | isis
26/7/2005 17:26 | Another glimmer of hope for you folk. PTG went into administration today, but notably the directors stated this : "At this stage the Directors do not anticipate that the administration will result in any return to equity shareholders." Eurodis didnt mention this in their statement. Hope you guys get something, I had a small amount on PTG so know how you feel. | jezus
26/7/2005 15:00 | hope so rick, hope so... | jordaggy
26/7/2005 14:54 | jordaggy - Unlike ELH - SRTS have a strong corporate backer who has provided funding without diluting shareholder value. If you wait till Sept you may have to pay over 50p. | rick25
26/7/2005 14:43 | 911, - I'm in srts, but what about the debt ??? | jordaggy
26/7/2005 14:41 | very positive statement jordaggy "As a result, the order backlog has increased substantially since the end of last year." the word 'substantially' is key here. One doesnt have to get a specific number..... saying that they are substantial is an indicator initself. Just bought 15,000. A re-rating is on the cards..... even if the actuall numbers are 5 months, the market will price the share to positive side. Its a classic turn around situation. | nineoneone
26/7/2005 14:35 | rick, not till thet release how much these deals are worth !...until next trading update - 5 mths away.... | jordaggy
26/7/2005 14:29 | Down a packet on this but expect to recover most of it on SRTS over the next week. Has just made a + trading update today. Tightly held and should (imho) motor upward. | rick25

26/7/2005 09:53 | Still seems a glimmer of hope with regard to sh's getting a bit back , albeit if franchises are leaving, the only real assets would be the distribution centre, stock (whatever the value is) and technical development areas. If broken up, who if anyone will benefit from the tax/losses? Still a write off unless told otherwise. Not sure in my own mind what benefit Arrow would get by not buying the distrib. centre and then everything else too boot. Any thoughts! | chiansaw
26/7/2005 07:39 | A motley fool poster posted this : Word on the street is that Arrow are interested, purely to stop it falling into other hands? Rhutronik were the guys who pulled out. They hope to buy it on the cheap from the Administrators. Other Rumour is that Future Electronics want the new stores facility in Holland. All in all it looks like they're gonna sell it off bit by bit??? Some of the Franchises have already jumped ship, such as Lattice Semiconductor. Philips was the final blow that took the company down. | nineoneone

25/7/2005 17:21 | Dont know if this can be relevant to eurodis. But a company called CRC has bought a subsidiary of a parent company that is in liquidation at the moment (in italy). This was reported on Ukwire : CRC announces that it has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Teleca and Kronos 2002, the mobile handset repair companies of the Progetto Electronica Group in Italy. This acquisition, if completed, demonstrates CRC's intention to become a significant European provider of technology repair services. The acquisition is conditional on the approval of the Court in Italian insolvency proceedings as the Italian holding company, Progetto Electronica 92 which owns the the majority shareholding in Teleca and Kronos 2002 is in liquidation. The equity consideration for the acquisition of Teleca and Kronos 2002, if the transaction is approved by the Italian court, would be a maximum of 5.5m payable in cash on completion from CRC's existing bank facilities. CRC will also assume debts of approximately 2m at completion. In the year ended 31 December 2004, Teleca and Kronos 2002 reported EBITDA of 2.56m on turnover of 20.65m and had net assets as at that date of 5.51m. Its interesting to see CRC actually paid the NAV of the company and took on the subsidiary's debt of 2m. So even though the parent was in liquidation, the value of the subsidiary's asset didnt diminish because of the parent company being in liquidation, more over the acquirer took on the debt. So gleening from the above, if the business to be acquired is functioning and capable of delivering then the administrators may well sell the assets for their balance sheet value and the debt taken on by the acquirer. I believe Malcolm's post has some substance and there could be some return for shareholders. | nineoneone
25/7/2005 16:54 | neilrr, there are several fan clubs on ADVFN where you can discuss the mans skills. Try the EPIC "HAY". AS said already he contributed nothing here. | momentos
25/7/2005 16:44 | not really neil. He picked a dozen or stocks and stated the exactly same things as he did with eurodis. Some have rocketed, on which he quietly left the appropriate board (eg SEG, QXL etc), some have done nothing and some fell... and unfortunately eurodis got suspended. He stuck with eurodis because the price went his way, unlike many others when he initially posted similar negative stuff but the share price went up (some over 20 fold) and he melted away. He just keeps on posting his trash on those boards where the share price goes his way, on others he disappears. So eventually he claims 100% success. But those of us who have been around long enough know thats farther from the truth. So no, he got lucky, as he got unlucky with others. At the end of the day he is a troll so much so ADVFN had to ban him even though he was a paying advfn user. | ed winchester
25/7/2005 16:43 | neilrr, Haystack was a pest. Sure he was 'right' but his reasoning was virtually non-existant. He might as well have just tossed a coin ... would you give someone a medal for correctly calling heads? In fact his posts may have had the opposite effect and caused some to be more positive than they should have been ... | kiwihope |
