In light of the outcome am I alone in thinking Haystack should be given a medal for his forthright refusal to be quiet when he correctly saw, from about 2 years back, that ELH was for the toilet? You may not have liked what he said, but he was right.

Perhaps you're ire should be directed at all the ELH cheerleaders on this thread who couldn't see the writing on the wall, followed this dog for hours everyday and continually posted of "topping up"?

Not a done deal guys, i've been in touch with head office who told me that although no further info is available at present- no one has mentioned that shareholders wouldn't receive a return is the coy is sold...in fact when you study this and the last rns how was it possible that as soon as merger talks ceased there were other parties interested in purchasing elh. Too fast..something is happening here guys...i wouldn't be surprised if the shares were suspended on request by the future prospective owners.. why - to halt any volotility in the share price. ELH holders may well be surprised yet!

Just had a quick scan through the weekend posts. Some interesting points.

I think an important point I would like to make is that everyone here accepted this was a high risk share. Why? Because eurodis was losing money, had moderately high debt and limited cash resources. With any company that means the clock is ticking and it's a race to see if profitability occurs before the money runs out. It certainly appears that eurodis lost the race. But that doesn't mean there was skulduggery or anything. I see it over and over again ... investors holding shares in companies they freely admit are high risk but then cannot accept that their gamble has simply failed. It seems that if the worst happens the company wasn't high risk after all and some unknown factor must have contributed.

I don't mean to sound harsh, I certainly have lost money in this way also, but I think it's important to learn from these mega events. And it certainly is mega to some investors who had a large holding.

Now I certainly don't want to sound like a know-it-all ('cos I'm not!) but for 12 months or so I had been posting about the risks with this share. The warning signals were there. I would say to anyone who has lost money in this company, don't blame the company, or DR, or the market or anyone but yourself. If you accept that, learn from it and move on then you've got a much better chance of future success. If however you continue to look for someone or something to blame then I'm afraid you'll probably end up in this situation again.

Not at all just curious that the IC reason for demise is completely at odds with the newsflow at the time.......

Just an obversation....fully understand it was down to the IC...not jumping up and down on it as you say......just thought you may or may not be interested.........sort of struck me as a bit strange.

Don't think there's much chance of this one coming back in present form anyway....but would be pleased for anyonw who's lost out if it does.

nonlottie,

re Philips, I was reporting what the IC (in effect) said . Have you shorted this share, by the way??!! Otherwise, why the almost obsessive interest in a share in which you are not personally involved??? Very odd!!!

It is as if having witnessed Eurodis' demise, you are now intent on jumping up and down on it, just in case it thinks of coming back!!

Very quick

Totally agree.slow news is always bad news..

For any buyer the plan B has to be to take the business and employees in the market place.......no IP here...

Therefore business becomes less valuable as every day goes by

Covenient to blame Philips now.......seem to remember it didn't matter at the time.

new franchises.........not happening for 12 months..........so how did it kill business in advance of the 12 months??????

replacement suppliers.....what happened to them.........still 6 months to find them

Journalists like a story/have to have one but in the absence of facts tend to accept what's fed.................

The longer it takes for an RNS here, the less likely for a rescue package/ie... Bid/Buyer for ELH. I hate to say!!!!!

Morning.

Saw smallish IC article in WHSmiths yesterday to the effect that the Eurodis management almost succeeded in turning the company around, but the loss of the Philips contract, worth £30m, had proven to be too much.

In hindsight it looks like this should've been hung before the raising
of the £38m, obviously things did'nt change much afterwards and a fair amount
evaporated quickly - nearly all failures are down to bad/misleading management. imo
What kind of salaries were these dudes on?

Malcolm

The debts taken over will be factored into the price offered for the shares. In my experience, Administrators realise considerably less than book value.

The parent company balance sheet is shown in the annual report (You get the group and the company).

If you contact the Administators, you should be able to get hold of a copy of the sales particulars which will provide you with chapter and verse of what they are actually selling. You will probably need to go under some sort of disguise as the Administrators will only normally pass out the particulars to serious bidders. Also keep an eye on the Companies House website (only available Monday to Friday) for the Administrators proposals hitting the register. This will provide you with an insight as to what they are trying to achieve and will also contain the directors statement of affairs (an estimate of what they reckon will be realised from the sale of the assets).

Once this information becomes available you will see if its a dead duck or not!
