Lottie..... you should be careful about such invitations. They might not turn out just the way you expect. Still, it's easy to talk in such a fashion
when anonymous. Pop your address on here for starters and
we'll take it from there.......

Rover...... aha!

So even absolute basket cases are worth something to someone.
ELH is a model of near perfection compared to that organisation.
Speaking of which.... what are the odds on another lender jumping out
of the bushes??? Wish the company would at least say something today.

SAIC seem to be doing a very good job of getting Rover as cheaply as possible...

Mom... if you were discussing the issue in the pub you would
swiftly realise you had a troll on your hands. Outcome? The words
"bracket" and punch come to mind. Hopefully, we can ignore and get
on with the essential debates of today. It'll go away soon.
Was interested in the Whelk Stall tale above. A few years back I had
a small amount in a much-touted company called Cedar. The goings-on there beggared belief. someone got the company for pence and set it up again privately, with a new name, cheekily an anagram of Cedar.
It was claimed, not by me, that a very senior management figure
of the original company emerged as having an association with the predator crew.
The boys and girls on this board will no doubt have some other,
interesting examples.

Are you saying that because there have been write downs in the past there can't be further write downs ..........if you are that is quite a leap of logic.

If you're not then tell me what you are alluding to

Between them they should have known better than you.............they will have had a lot more info than you............. the business and finances must have been very bad ...what they're saying is they couldn't even give it away even with the tax losses.

Due diligence might have shown assets were not what everyone thought. Remember Olivers ( I know it was a very different business), but companies in trouble don't always write down their assets as far as they should because of banking covenants etc. In the case of Olivers to get a sale the directors had to half the net asset value. Directors in this and other situations are often in a more difficult position than is apparent.

Don't blame anyone bar me - too many eggs in one basket etc.

HMT - you own shares - if ya don't pay they'll come after you!!!

Ed - 2 mill done t20 - broker already needs some cash as collateral.

Hoping that DR can salvage his reputation as the share price - what else is there!!

Later cats!

nonlottie, talking of playground analogies, you are like the kid in the corner always saying he's the best at everything, but when it comes to actually playing usually has some kind of injury. Or his mummy won't let him play.

I just question your reasons for being on this board, at this particular time with those particular comments.

Schadenfreude its called. A very sad emotion to feed on.

Sorry to all you holders - I got out of ELH sometime ago and stayed out.

However I was heavily into Triplearc (TPA) and a profit warning 2 weeks back saw me lose a fortune too so I know how your feeling - if only I did this or that spring to mind.

I am hopefully the wiser for it even if much poorer and it will take along time getting to regain my investing confidence.

Hope things are not as gloomy as they seem.

Dougie probably lost 65k as well, but given that he was getting a substantially wedge for the job anyway I'm sure he'll survive.

Not particularly Doug's fault, you can't blame a man for trying his best. External factors killed it.

Momentos.

Didn't say my views were nearer than anyone else.

Didn't say 100% sure.

Hindsight - surely not when stated beforehand.

Can't believe you also think a free flow of info isn't beneficial. This BB is not exclusive to you even if you are a regular.

What's wrong with following something and re-appraising the situation to improve timing - if it's ok with you.

sorry to you and anyone else who lost money, but sympathy wears thin to see you ganging up with Dyfiman like a couple of playground bullies.

Dyfiman/Mach?o! what's happened to the blind faith that was so much part of the investment rationale on this board.............bitter and very twisted........

Can understand you smarting a bit this morning. Why don't you just blame me for not putting my point across a bit more forcibly?????

Earthy and to the point. Well said, Mr Momentos. The person is a troll.
By the way, I hear there's a £100,000 bounty on DR's head. Bulky people
with baseball bats and handcuffs are scouring continental beaches at
this very moment.
