22/3/2023 18:02 | Gi-normous volume today (5 million odd) & a scary day low of 165p ... before a "relief recovery" (of sorts). Feels like this is going to be "one of those rides"! Oh well ... I'm in deep & staying the course now! "Onward! To victory! ... or ... er defeat!" Nice posts, philanderer and 97peter - my morale has been duly boosted! - vp | volvopandy
22/3/2023 15:08 | Good advice Peter :-) Hopefully recovery has kicked in. | philanderer
22/3/2023 15:05 | Stay calm Philanderer! It will come good, there 6 monthly and yearly forecasts sound good! Plus the sales and acquisitions last year all are sound! Plus once they start buying around 500,000 shares per dealing day for the next 60 days from next week, they will have hoovered up 30 million shares for an average of £2.10 within 3 months! Plus I reckon if people stay strong and hold, we could see 230p. | 97peter
22/3/2023 09:33 | Confidence shot to pieces in this one. Delaying results in not good. Especially announcing it the day before they're due. | philanderer
22/3/2023 01:05 | The State of Manufacturing 2023 Report, conducted for Essentra Components by The Engineer Magazine, sought to uncover the biggest concerns facing engineers working in UK manufacturing. In the latest episode of TE Talks, Scott discusses the findings of the report with Jon Excell from The Engineer Magazine. Watch the interview: | philanderer
21/3/2023 17:33 | Here's today's .... results delayed 1 week.. Essentra plc ("Essentra" or the "Company"), today announces a revised date for the publication of its preliminary financial results for the year ended 31 December 2022. The Company will now announce its results on 29 March 2023 and not on 22 March 2023 as previously stated. The Company confirms that the 2022 outturn remains in line with Board expectations. As a result of the disposals of the Filters and Packaging businesses in 2022, the Company's auditor, PwC, has requested additional time to complete its standard procedures. Whilst the audit is not yet complete, no substantive issues have been brought to the Board's attention. The Board remains confident, based on current order trends, of meeting 2023 market expectations. In keeping with the Share Buyback Programme announcement on 2 February 2023, the Board re-confirms its intention to announce the launch of the Share Buyback Programme immediately after it announces the preliminary results for the year ended 2022. | philanderer

21/3/2023 16:18 | key issue in results tomorrow will be level of cost base. this is a business which had a level of overhead when it was filters packaging and components, ie divisional people plus group people now it is only components so a lot of people ought to have been exited and costs cut - do they really need separate group and divisional hr, finance etc? there is a lot of overhead they ought to have cut and if they havent cut overhead then essentra shares are gonna get marked down - perhaps this is why the share price is going down today? they also need to cut the size and cost of their board. i doubt jack clarke will do that though with his background of excess remuneration and bleeding shareholders which he did before at marshalls plc | loads2
21/3/2023 15:13 | Sell off before results tomorrow. Leaked ? | philanderer

20/3/2023 08:44 | What's happening here? | babbler
17/3/2023 17:41 | I'm a bit perplexed / disappointed that the share price didn't ramp up pre-X divi day - and that worries me, medium-long term ... BUT ... I'm thinking: worst case, we could become a takeover target & cash in our chips off the back of that. As it is, we qualify for the best divi in town right now, which buys us time - hopefully - for the share price to recover as the final divi comes in & the buy-back is initiated. For the record, my average is 224p. Good luck to all holders / buckle up for the X-divi fall on Monday. -vp | volvopandy

03/3/2023 13:09 | Agree Kenmitch. However we can hope? Plus yes shares like Aviva and others who have done buybacks, doesn’t always work! It will benefit the CEO and Directors! If we can get to 240p by 20 March, then build with buybacksfrom around 210p to about 232p range over 3 months from 22 March to 22 June time at around 454,000 shares per day at £2.20p over 60 market days over 3 months?? | 97peter
03/3/2023 12:49 | 97peter Buybacks don’t mean automatic higher share price. If it did we would all buy Companies buying back for a guaranteed profit! There are many examples of buybacks being followed by a falling share price. e.g Abdn have been buying back their shares for several years, starting them at £5 which ended up the peak, and the share price subsequently fell to just £1.40 before recent recovery to £2.20. The huge special dividend is the big bonus, and there’s a goodish chance that the share might have a bit of a run ahead of ex dividend date on 20th March. | kenmitch
03/3/2023 10:36 | The news and actions of Essentra are going well! Hopefully the news and updates on 22 March 23, will verify that, then we will have 3 months of daily buy backs to spend the £60 million. Which should get or push the share price back up over 260p by July 2023?. It should rise to around 240p by 20 March then drop on x-divi day to 211p, then from buybacks days start to creep up maybe 1p every 2-3 days? GLA LTH - Read and DYOR and checkout the Essentra investor pages and previous reports on buys and sells of certain parts of the company!! | 97peter
