T101 - I was reading up on SCS and it is clear how well on-line business are doing, contrary to what you were suggesting - on-line growth roars ahead, so I expect EVE will be much the same.

"As of November 2021, ScS’s order book stood at £131.9 million, which was £71.5 million higher than the same point two years ago.

The retailer said its online business continues to perform well, with two-year like-for-like order growth for the first 16 weeks of the year standing at 38.5 per cent"

T101 it is fortunate that EVE built stocks earlier and unless business has boomed to the extent they are out of stock of a few items, coupled to the fact that they are not relying on footfall unlike SCS, as the bulk of the business is online, thus keeping costs under control and sourcing from UK suppliers, they are well placed, as new beds are one of the first purchases made when people move into new homes.
Also bear in mind the diversity of the wellbeing sleep range they now offer alongside products like CBD products.

Black Friday deals from all bed retailers will drive demand even more, along with being associated with the likes of Next etc.

Look forward to an upbeat RNS imo, the mood of the market is the only thing likely to hold this back.

SCS released their AGM trading statement which demonstrated that customers are not spending on big ticket items and that the supply chain disruptions are having an impact on their business. If you believe that is just isolated to SCS then great, nothing to worry about huh...."However, over the last seven weeks, the Group has seen a reduction in store footfall and conversion with consumers spending less on big ticket discretionary purchases. This appears to be driven by a change in behaviour with consumers shopping earlier for Christmas when compared with previous years. The extended product lead times currently being experienced across the furniture and wider retail industry are also having an impact on current purchasing trends ."

Seems you called it wrong again clocktower. Down it is.

Just as likely to jump downwards, especially given the lack of volume and bid support.

I think your correct at the moment T101.

The MM are still offering them at 2.92 online but I will take your advice and wait a little longer to see if there is another drop before buying - lets hope I do not miss the jump upwards.

Seems there is no rush to buy and the price is dropping as the MMs don't want to hood much stock.

T101 Amazon did not make a profit for many years, as they invested in growth, while EVE may make a profit in the UK they maybe spending to grow the French market, but as they forecast their cash position will remain much the same.

I assume that you do not have want me to post the fact once again from the RNS I previous posted.

However thank you for posting you view as it provides any potential investors with food for thought.

Once we get a trading update, we will see which view of the future of the business is reflected in the share price.

All the waffle on here that they will be in profit next year, yet the rampers don't have a single shred of evidence that it will be. Pointing to a statement by the company that the "region will live to profitability in 2022" isn't evidence of them heading to actual profit you know, especially the way that the overpaid Directors split out so much into general admin expenses. Indeed the fact that they chose to phrase it that way means they are guaranteed not to be in actual profit.

Let's see what happens. EVE is a great recovery play. There are a few impersonators out there, but EVE's approach is spot on. Selling through the likes of Dunelm, Argos, and Next, rather than going for the boom or bust prime-time advertising model some of the others are trying.

DG, I do not think that is the case here, this time, as there was a sell of 600k a short time before but as there were no rush to buy at 3.1p this week one MM just dropped the share price to tempt more buyers in imo.

jonshevlin re post 130,

The Stockopedia figures for 2022 are simply wrong. There is not yet any broker forecast for 2022, so you should disregard them.

They might have a deficit in stock caused by the large buy which needs resolving. You raise the price and buyers will pile in (the opposite of what the MM wants), drop the price and he might attract a few novice sellers.

Very odd what is going on with the MM, a big buy just 1 second after the drop in offer and not a blip of a difference.

"...MM are limiting the amount on offer to provide a smokescreen"

Insurance claim in the offing?

All small buys so far because it seems one is unable to buy more than around 25k shares online. MM building.

Seems the MM are still trying the clear the remnants of that 1.3m sell from last week - last week there was support at 3p and they must have cleared over half to date, and as they took them at 2.8p but at what level will there be stronger support?

I notice there is only one MM left on offer at 3.1p today.

One very decent buy, so now the noise has subsided we just need to wait for news but while we wait the larger buyers will continue to bottom feed I expect.

There's no way that this will get much above their current revenue forecast IMO, indeed the headwinds are against them with consumers holding on to their cash and worldwide supply chain issues meaning difficulties in manufacturing and supply as well as an increase in raw material costs. I see on the lunatic asylum they are waffling on about share buybacks. Hello rampers, you need actual cash generation to do that and fluff is headed for another two years of losses with their losses increasing on last year. I would say that that their forward P/E was going to be reduced, but they don't actually make a profit in the first place.
