Surely most of the debt is to Oando, so if the debt is high then they owe themselves and if they can make the shares worthless then they get the company for nothing and if they then acquire the debt it doesn't matter because it's to themselves. I don't see what gmph1 is saying and why it's in their interest to have a higher share value for EEL - if they wanted to buy out the minorities then they would want the value to be low. It would only be if there was no debt to Oando and they wanted to offload would they want the share value to be high, but of absorbing onto Oando then they want the share value at nothing or less. I wish I could have that optimism though. Gmph1, best not respond to those Nigerian emails promising millions, like this it's just a scam.

Whilst that is technically correct, it is also irrelevant since that aspect is nothing more than a balance sheet adjustment.

Please remember, Oando own 81.5% of EEL and indeed 81.5% of ALL EEL's debt!!!

When the figures are broken down, EEL's debt is only a few pennies per share for the SLG's 18.5% holding in EEL.

It is in Oando's own interest to improve or prove-up the valuation of EEL's assets and I personally feel that a resolution is not too far away, in one guise or another.

Thieving scumbags will still be crying poverty as fas as EEL shareholders are concerned......

How much interest have we now accrued? Must be close to the point where they will claim the debt = the value of our shares and that a wipeout would be a "fair" resolution.

Never ever ever invest in Nigeria.
