Yes deadline is tomorrow 5pm, next TU is scheduled for w/c 8/7 (from co’s website)
If we get another extension I reckon it’ll be the last with either an agreed bid (IST won’t accept a low ball) or closure of the matter alongside decent trading update to counter.
I think it’s gone on long enough now and has held the share price back so we could find out tomorrow 🤞

I stand corrected I was writing the comment from memory as as way from my computer and using my phone. I use forecast PE for FY 24 as I believe for a high growth company that is more relevant. Anyway no announcement this morning so the wait continues. I'm happy to hold even if there is no bid as I think the long term prospects are very good. The market has long discounted a Labour victory so the main risk I see is an unexpected 'hung' parliament with with some crackpot greens or other fringe group calling the shots as we have in Scotland.

once again, for the avoidance of any doubt, the p/e is 30.5.*
i believe you are using an "adjusted P/E" and that is based on removing one off items from the expenditure, only eqls have removed the exact same items two years ruining and as far as i can see intend to keep removing them year after year, as in clear they are then not one off. This is why p/e and not adjusted p/e is the norm used to value a company ,it partially eliminates auditing fluffing tactics.
Further , even using adjusted p/e the figure is 16.36 + and not 15.

so to keep the thread above board and true under any scrutiny ,you should either use p/e, or say the "adjusted" p/e is xyz and not that the p/e is xyz.

*PAT-£7.7 mill x 30.5= 234 million
+ £1.26 / 7.7p = 16.36

Tha rise is just redressing the drif downwards over the last month or so. A rise into the 140s is needed for real progress. Look at TIG been hovering for two years at around 120 even though PE of around 7 is confirmed but results then suddenly market wakes up to value and share price jumps to 198p . EQLS is dearer at PE 15 but I think a ride to 150 is justified on growth prospects . Factor in a 20-30 % premium for a bid and 180 lolls about right% premium go can

This whole process has been very "leaky" (eg blog which announced start of strategic review in October before company, media announcement of Railsr indicative offer etc.) and the Money 2020 conference (major payments conference) finished yesterday...wouldn't surprise if loose lips have struck yet again.

What the share is worth and what the share price will do are two completely separate entities.

No one, I hope, is seriously suggesting that if an RNS comes saying 'bids off ' this will not fall below 116p.
Bots and algos will be all over it trying to make easy money by hitting stops in the understanding sellers hoping for bid will exist

There could well be a reasoned argument for taking any sell-off to acquire shares that you believe are undervalued, however, the market can stay illogical.

You get the feeling that the outcome is close. The share has been looking a little wobbly recently, large buys seem to have dried up, and I get the impression at 116p a high premium bid seems a mirage.

would £1 hold? possibly would give support at that level. So we have a 16p loss Risk for say A 40-60p premium; that would seem a good bet and offer value, but it seems suspiciously too good, The market does not normally offer free money that easily and I will pass.

But wtfdik regarding the bids?

Nothing!

all in my honest opinion.

I do, was just stating facts ;)

Actually think they're worth more than this even with bid talks finally off (assuming that's what happens).

seriously? That implies they may be worthless. I'm asking because even if there is no deal, this stock has to be worth more than the current share price - don't you think?
