Simply for the record : The reference to "clip clop" is a reference to the idiot (I can't remember who started it, but it was taken up by the back of the bike-shed boys) who reacted to my posting anything which was not disparaging to the company with the phrase in an attempt to stop my posting by ridiculing me, once I had mentioned that I had a life (which included my horses) outside these boards. I am glad to know I am not the only one to think this was childish.

Also, for the record :

"I can only presume that you are referring to the likes of yourself and potem - his posts above are a good example of that of which you complain. I neither attack anyone, nor am I bitter."

If you really need to pay to be told to sell BP just because it is spewing out unlimited amounts of oil onto the American coast and the US President is calling for its assets to be appropriated and the CEO to be strung up by his balls from the nearest available bridge, might you not be better off in managed funds ?

I'm sure your perspicacity is valued on the MW site along with potem's rather childish clip clops.

I am a subscriber to MW and would mention just two "tips" in the last six months or so that I have acted upon.
1. Sell BP 29/04
2. Buy COVE
The result of this advice will cover the annual sub. for very many aeons.

RBS may not be out in a week but they definitely have a good chance os going below a notifiable holding within a week

Well at this rate RBS could be out by next week.

warala :RBS are under government pressure to not "play the market" and to divest themselves of holdings in speculative shares. It may be no reflection on them that they are selling, and the sell off may not reflect what they think of this particular investment.

However, I agree with you that the sooner they are now gone the better.

Yes. But I didn't go on the advice of my friend Jonah - he spent a lot of time in Whales and advised me against repeating his mistake.

Michael Walters tips penny stocks on the internet

Well, well, well wolterix, just how wrong can you be in both quotes. And Yes I am a MW subscriber and in from day one not like yourself who has never subscribed to the site.

It has changed a lot in the last couple of years, penny stocks are few and far between.

buggy : A quick response while the horses are eating : Yes they do post elsewhere. They are often drowned out by those with agendas of their own (eg rampers who appear and then disappear only to re-appear under a different name).

The site seems to work because on the whole people self-moderate rather than because it is moderated. The most important part of your post is IMO "if you can decern the wheat from the chaff". Not only is there far less chaff to sort out, but you avoid those who believe that the purpose of a free bb on the subject of a company is to continue their private attempts at humour, for instance.

Like you I read a variety of bb's, and do a bit of reading as well, but that does not deter me from thinking £75 is well spent on any particular source of information and ideas.

potem,

Just a question and not taking you to task.
Do almost all posters at MW site not also post elsewhere? If MW is not the reason for joining then why pay to see a post which the poster also posts elsewhere?

Or is there a ban that once you have posted information in MW site , the information becomes the property of MW and you are no longer allowed to post it elsewhere?

The only advantage in MW site for me is that the site is moderated, so not as many clowns, rampers, derampers etc as you usually get elsewhere. Good for novice investors certainly but if you can decern the wheat from the chaff .. then there is nothing in MW site that you could not get elsewhere.

Mind you I am neither advocating MW nor against it, I am sure it is very useful even if only to get away from the clown elements. In MW site I assume most posters recognise that investing is a serious business, BB is not a playground or children's sandbox but a forum to share useful information.

Myself I read a lot of BB, skip the dross and post occasionally.

Bluebelle and 'friends',

I ask you to start a thread yourselves where you can chat between yourselves for ever and a day.

I started this thread for the express purpose of discussing/sharing information about Environmental Recycling Technologies. So far you have seemingly acheived your aim in amusing yourselves by trashing the thread and casting apersions ad nauseam. As you know, people will not post if they are attacked continually by such bitter people.

Could you now move your comments to another thread of your own please.

Fair point, Knight but I think I'd rather follow your earlier advice if only to help TSK. He was so upset by one of Wendy's posts he had to join the British Legion to forget her.

(Second thoughts : you don't think that's him in the photo do you ?)

Is that doctorjohn just after asking Old Florida why, having been a lifelong advocate of trailing stops, he called ENRT/TDM a 'BUY' all the way down from 190 to its suspension price ?
