14/10/2008 05:52 | Monday, October 13, 2008 By: Ryan Ball Entertainment Rights (ER) has secured worldwide rights to the animated series Me, Myself and the Others outside of Italy, Germany, Austria and German- and Italian-speaking Switzerland. The 52x5 digital 2D series is a co-production between RAI Fiction, Enanimation, Motus and Motionworks, and is based on the publishing franchise Favole by Andrea Pazienza, one of Italy's most successful illustrators. International buyers attending MIPCOM this week can get an exclusive first look. Me, Myself and the Others revolves around a group of animals including a vegetarian lion, a sporty giraffe and a mild-mannered crocodile. In each episode, one of the characters is inspired to pursue an idea, regardless of the consequences for the rest of the community. In the end, though, harmony is restored and the animal pals are always brought back together by their bond of friendship. The show recently picked up a Pulcinella award for Best Preschool Series. | rochford6

27/9/2008 18:53 | The Times article provides the background reason for the seemingly odd contract change, the telegraph article makes no mention of the reason and just looks at the reduced immediate revenue. Well the big lummox could have emphasized on the RNS the benefits of this change and the reason, and that the company believes the near-term revenue losses will be more than offset by the longer term revenue benefits from the Depp Lone Ranger film from Disney. Presumably the film must be in the bag now to commit to this contractual change. | 53tom

27/9/2008 10:29 | I think this is the end of ERT, I have also written the investment off. At any time increased debt is not good, in this market/credit crunch it is the end. I can't imagine a bidder coming in, why not wait for the administrators and pick off the good bits for pennies. And to think a few weeks ago they were still being tipped to rise..! See you on another board..! | petepostman
26/9/2008 21:56 | Joey - You're spot on, well said. I'm glad for you that you got out when you did. I'm a long term holder that has lost a serious amount of money on this co. But I'm not here to bleed all over everyone on this board. I backed my judgement on the properties they had but did'nt reckon on the unbelievable incompetence of the management. Tough for me. I don't see them lasting until 2010 and I said a couple of months ago that I had "mentally" written of my investment - soon I can "physically" write it off. Bransgrove, you should be ashamed of yourself. For those of you that are gloating (Bonio1000) you have added nothing to the debate - go and check on your post office savings account. I thank you................. | wodahsnoom

26/9/2008 12:45 | Update: Johnny Depp Playing Tonto in The Lone Ranger Source:ComingSoon.ne During Disney's preview today in Hollywood, the studio questioned who could possibly play the titular character in its upcoming feature The Lone Ranger. At that, Disney rolled out the USC marching band to come down and play the Ranger's theme song. This was followed by an appearance by Depp himself who took to the stage in full Captain Jack Sparrow attire...wearing The Lone Ranger's mask. According to our Disney reps, Depp is officially signed to play Tonto and not the Lone Ranger as initially implied. The Lone Ranger, said to be an origin story, is written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. | 53tom |
