10/7/2008 14:30 | Will I ever catch that falling knife. Suckered in for more. This share is the biggest nightmare I own. I just cannot understand why the price continues to fall. JW | joey wilson
09/7/2008 12:35 | Holy sh!t* i'm seeing blue. Does this mean the announcement re Disney is about to come out? | 53tom
08/7/2008 17:52 | No news on the DVD compensation issue after 7 months. What's the betting the compo takes the form of Universal taking up film rights on another ert character? That way Universal gets something for it's money and ert keeps a relationship with one of the biggest players in the business and does'nt lose face with it's shareholders. ERT mentioned they were in negotiations with a "number" of studios for film rights to their characters. All imho with the words "clutching" and "straws" coming to mind. | wodahsnoom
08/7/2008 07:24 | Not while the SHORT position is as high as 6%!!! The same people as have bought a stake are using the weight of their cash to bear down on trading of the share and prevent it rising....... The effect is that they pick up all the SELLS at the price they want to with little or no opposition!!! This is how companies get quoted at prices vastly below NAV or silly PE's!!! Caveat Emptor!!! | svendid
07/7/2008 13:39 | There should be some news this week of the Disney film situation , accoding to the AGM comments from the board of entertainmentrights. | 53tom
03/7/2008 17:41 | Dubbsie 100% from here will not be break even for some people. This company seems to be getting its act together at long last and the share price will return to a true level given time. | rochford6
03/7/2008 12:55 | All companies suffering in this market making bid approach v likely, one of my other holding sold for 90% premuim to recent share price, here's hoping same happens here | dubbsie
02/7/2008 12:46 | 53Tom - it would make sense for them to buy them at his price then tuck them away till the price is higher | rochford6
02/7/2008 12:42 | This is just crazy a 10% drop with 250000 share trades!!! Looks like the company is trying to buy in those 75000000 shares re its special resolution at the agm at the lowest price possible (just over 5pence | 53tom
30/6/2008 19:59 | Check out they have it listed as in development. | hsho
30/6/2008 17:23 | just been on a trip through holland, belgium, france and the uk and noticed that a lot of the service stations including the little chef have a stand selling DVD's of postman pat etc, anyone else noticed them before. I suppose every little helps. I did notice that a lot of them were half empty which i do not know if this is a good or bad thing. Anyone heard anymore about the deal with Disney to do a new lone ranger movie, seem to recall it was due to start filming this year and that ERT are expected to recieve an upfront payment along with a share of the profits. | rochford6
30/6/2008 17:17 | Does anyone know if the compensation claim from the DVD debacle last Christmas was mentioned at the AGM and if so what the outcome is/was? | petepostman
30/6/2008 16:34 | Heartened to see a small but meaningful rise in today's price. Not a bad AGM statement, by the way. I'm convinced this company is pulling it's socks up at long last. | hotips
26/6/2008 12:29 | At AGM today. The strategic review is complete and no nasties have been uncovered. The company is in a strong financial position. They are going to accelerate debt reduction. A question was asked about the Lone Ranger film option with Disney, as rumoured in the US press, they stated that it was looking good and that they hope to be making a statement about it in about two weeks time. They seemed to be talking about a trilogy of Lone Ranger films by Jerry Bruckheimer and the writers who scripted the Pirates of the Caribean films. But they are awaiting Disney feedback before making a statement in about two weeks. It could be a massive boost to ERT and if the Hollywood Reporter article is to be believed ERT have negotiated a really good upfront payment from Disney for them to use the Lone Ranger, and also a share of profits. I gather there is no downside for ERT should the film not make money. Basically the company is sound with potential for some significant news flow very soon. | 53tom
26/6/2008 09:17 | Oh dear. The strategic review has come to exactly the wrong conclusion. The Classic acquisition was only transformational in that it weakened an already weak company. It looks as if the new CEO is in thrall to the failed old-timers on his board and is afraid to face up to the realities of his situation. Far from making yet more acquisitions he needs to set about culling the non-performing bits, probably much more than half of the product, and setting about properly exploiting the one or two brands not fatally tainted by ERT ownership. This way the staff-cutting that the company needs will occur naturally if he has the guts to see it. The culture of overpaying executives is still, doubtless, extant and will drain away shareholder reward, as ever. Clearly the best result is an unrefusable bid by an outside company. | humphbumph
26/6/2008 06:58 | AGM notice and RNS. Anyone going to AGM today at 10.30? Anyone got any sensible questions? | 53tom
23/6/2008 06:58 | whats the big idea | rich2006
21/6/2008 10:48 | How very reassuring to see the contortions the City is going through on the question of uncontrolled SHORTING..... I don't mind the idea....it has a place..... BUT when sectional interests and larger shareholders..... manipulate a share price, aided and abetted often by the company's house broker, who should be neutral and impartial, I row in full square behind the long awaited first moves by the FSA to place strict limits on the practice. Caertainly SHORT trading, with rules that protect the interests of the SMALL shareholder, is an aspiration that should no longer be ignored!!! Who here can say that the present share price of ERT is not being manipulated by a very tiny number of people? Caveat Emptor!! | svendid
19/6/2008 14:54 | This is exactly the sort of positive news we've been starved of for so long. Well done. | hotips
19/6/2008 11:11 | Entertainment Rights is continuing to look at new ways to boost its evergreen Postman Pat brand - revealing that Universal Cycles has been appointed as licensee for the new Special Delivery Service (SDS) to cover all wheeled and ride-on products. The deal will include bicycles, trikes, scooters and accessory packs including helmets and safety pads, across the UK, Eire, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Product is currently in development and will roll out across all major retailers in spring 2009, following the new series which will begin airing on Cbeebies next autumn. "The new BBC series of Postman Pat SDS takes on a new momentum and features a brand new fleet of vehicles that help Pat deliver any place, anytime, anywhere, which provides an excellent basis from which to develop a range of innovative ride-ons," said Andrew Kerr, executive director of international consumer products and marketing at ER. | rochford6 |
