07/3/2022 13:51 | Hi to long time holders here from the early GVC days. I reduced after Kenny Alexander left, and again when I saw the difficulty created by the MGM JV and their veto rights which they used when DK came calling. This seems to be back in "Buy" territory based on the sector and wider market sell offs. But MGM still have to be the elephant in the room? I note from some recent posts that some holders seem to still think that this will be taken out. Thus has anything happened to reduce the MGM hold over the business? If not I guess its a case of either waiting for them to come back, or maybe spinning out the JV into a separate listed vehicle. Recent sector events suggest that such a move might not add the value that it once would have. GL to all longs but especially the long termers. Off Topic but in case anyo0ne interested. My tip for the top these days is GMR. Growth gaming stock on 7 x EBITDA and strong balance sheet. The key is that their games have 3.5% of NJ and that will roll out as more states regulate iGaming. Apols! | brownie69

06/3/2022 07:55 | The New York legislature sits between 5 Jan and 2 June this year, there are 31 more sessions left in this legislative session. Bills introduced this year will be considered in the next years business. The bill in question A8658 was introduced by Gary Pretlow last month as one which would prohibit the sports betting licensees from seeking a change in the tax rate. He amended it to bring in the more radical proposal of forcing the congress to introduce more operators and therefore reduce the tax rate. This was always the original Pretlow - Addabbo plan but was scuppered by ex Governor Cuomo. However, now that legislation is in place with 9 operators contracted into paying 50% tax for ten years and seeing the massive tax inflow pouring into the States coffers ask yourself two questions - what incentive will legislators have in voting through a reduction in tax rate which would potentially reduce their income And- Since New York is becoming an established market which six additional companies are going to pay a licence fee, enter the market two years behind their competitors and attempt to wrest customers away from FanDuel, BetMGM, DraftKings and Caesars .If this bill were to pass it would be great news but being realistic I think New York have other priorities | mip55

04/3/2022 15:01 | HM, absolutely. We have just seen that the company is well run and executing on its plan. For me this is a lower risk investment so I have topped up under 1500p. Of course, we are apparently going to be taken out at 2000p so its an easy 33% profit. A no brainer surely in that case? CM. | cheshiremoggie
