These were reasonable results. I increased my holding when the first bid was made recently and am happy to hold. As far as I am concerned it is a recovery play and I would not be at all surprised if another bid were made.

Results statement held no surprises (unsurprisingly) - let's see if we close above 120

I also have a holding in MPAC who a few weeks ago said they would be announcing their year end results on 17th March. Two days ago they said that the results would now be deferred to 31st March because of Covid related issues in preparing the figures. The company has been doing well so I see nothing sinister in the deferral.

On a much smaller scale the accounts of the block of flats where I live have also been deferred because the local firm that produces them have also had Covid problems.

I am therefore relaxed about the Elementis results date.

I remain relaxed - good to see a proper test of 130 - be interesting to see where we finish the week.

Results now delayed until 23 March. Not sure why they didn’t just give it a few more weeks and they could have announced them alongside the half year results.

After a rejected bid you would expect management to up their game to impress shareholders. Delayed results are rarely a sign of a management team who are on top of the business. The board also have to start taking some responsibility for these missteps, looks again like they’ve been asleep at the wheel.

I was positive on this share as a recovery play but I’m now thinking I may just cash out and run.

I am not too worried about the results being a couple of weeks later than before. If it were a month or more that would be different.

Toffeeman - thank you for that. This is about two weeks later than normal. Do bad numbers take longer to add up or are they negotiating behind the scenes?

I have had a small holding here for years but I added a couple of times when the takeover approach was made and have added again today.

I think it is a recovery situation anyway and management was taking action before Covid came along. It's also always been a cyclical stock and the amount of money being poured into the economy by the US and others can only be good.

I think the takeover was opportunistic however I still think that another approach from somewhere is still possible.

I am not a great chart enthusiast but lots of people do use them and I see no price resistance up to about 180P.

Altogether I think things have come together nicely.

And to think this crashed to sub 30p a year ago. Wish I had taken more advantage rather than buying just a grands worth.

This will cruise back up to around 145-150p over the next 3-4 months on just a general recovery play as things unlock.

Assuming we see an encouraging set of half year results then 180p by end of 2021 is definitely achievable.

I think any bid potential has gone, north of 130p I don’t see any attraction for a bidder.
