20/4/2021 10:14 | Typo Betaville were running this rumour last Wednesday however am surprised no announcement given Kleinman's readership | tonysss13
20/4/2021 10:09 | Note "one investor" suggested and it would be an undisclosed mix of cash and shares, which is usually less attractive than a cash bid. Charts suggests it's a rumour been doing the rounds for week. | typo56
20/4/2021 10:08 | Now it’s hitting news it’s on alliance news now I think they are going for the American market open | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 09:44 | I think it’s more likely they are going back to previous bidders to ask do they want to up theirs before making announcement of agreed bid, I would expect something any moment certainly before US open either way | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 08:35 | How long does it take to formulate an RNS to inform shareholders and the markets that the rumoured bid is a load of B,,,,,ks. No time at all I would think. However if they have to formulate an RNS to confirm a bid they may well have to explain in more detail how the media have scooped the news before their shareholder. There are quite a few large buys this morning, certainly not PI's which tend to suggest that there is some substance in what is being reported so a bid may well be on the cards once more. I would be pleasantly surprised if it were as high as £2 a share and maybe it's present level is around a more likely offer price and the markets know more than we do. AIMO. regards | peaeff
20/4/2021 08:24 | could not agree more as the rns might drop at any second between now and cob today, i do not think the pricing is right as the offer could be well above current trading price of 165p, | demark
20/4/2021 08:18 | I think they will have to issue an RNS one way or another, even if just to say that they know no reason for the sudden increase in the share price | richjp
20/4/2021 08:05 | I agree it could be one of those times, it’s uncommon though. If it does transpire to be in excess of 200p then it’s currently a real bargain! | ashbox
20/4/2021 07:59 | Is the market ‘aware’ of the new bid, I’ve seen a ceo give a profit warning on news but company had failed to issue to LSE in that case the shares dropped 8% in morning trade, when they issued statement on US market they fell over a third, same happens other way round sometimes | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:53 | The market doesn’t currently believe the offer will be as high as 200p. | ashbox
20/4/2021 07:50 | Looking back at chart £2 would still be a loss for some was near £3 only three years ago but is slot better than 50p at height of pandemic falls | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:43 | From Sky news The disclosure will again raise questions about why the written offer from Innospec had not already been divulged to Elementis's shareholders given the credibility of the bidder. One investor suggested that the bid had been tabled in a mixture of cash and shares, and that it valued Elementis at more than 200p-a-share. | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:34 | From the Times A London-listed chemicals company that rejected a series of takeover bids from across the Atlantic last year has received a fresh approach at a big premium to its latest share price. Elementis, which makes chemicals used in products such as deodorants, has received an offer from Innospec valuing it at more than £1 billion. The bid from the Nasdaq-quoted group could be announced as early as today, according to Sky News. | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:33 | Just checked is also on US news about it so why no RNS yet? | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:31 | So you think we will get mid morning news or when US market opens? | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:31 | I'll take 200 - my current (small) holding cost me zilch! | toffeeman
20/4/2021 07:24 | Sky news breaking £2 per share bid from Innospec, said expecting both companies to announce today but no announcement? | csmwssk12hu
20/4/2021 07:21 | Gap not closed - yet!! | toffeeman
19/4/2021 10:51 | "Now, the unconfirmed mutter is that Elementis has caught the eye of a different US-based predator." | epistrophy
19/4/2021 09:04 | You can access the Sunday Mail online for free and read the article. It suggests a bid of possibly £1B. The current market cap according to this website is just under £800K implying a bid therefore around 165 - 170P. The Mail often gets mocked for good reason, however I have often found that its financial pages have always been pretty good for the private investor. | richjp
19/4/2021 07:53 | I think the Rosemary Banyard interview is well worth listening to. She sees Elementis as the most under valued stock in her fund of about thirty stocks. She also says that she thinks the failed bid at 130P underwrites the SP, a view which I have stated myself. | richjp
19/4/2021 06:47 | Snippet in the Mail on Sunday regarding the activity in the share price as a possible percursor to a new bid | solarno lopez
16/4/2021 09:04 | Elementis (ELM) mentioned at 29:10 in the latest Piworld Interview by Rosemary Banyard, which she holds in her VT Downing Unique Opportunities Fund. Watch the Video here: Or Listen to the podcast version here: | tomps2
15/4/2021 11:59 | Looking good - gap to close between 150 and 162 - if we can get to 150! | toffeeman
14/4/2021 13:23 | Yep another retest of 130 hopefully this time it will stick - look for third white soldier tomorrow | toffeeman |
