250 - 285 would not be beyond reason |
I would be delighted with that |
With a 2 in front of it hopefully. |
I hope so - I want a bid which is accepted by the board so I can sell without regret. |
That’s got to be a bid coming now surely |
perky this afternoon |
From watching the share price movement Bids on its way imho dyor |
Someone paid 161.2 for these today |
Also I expect the continuing decline of crypto currency which is long overdue will see money that would have gone into crypto go into shares instead |
Just jumped again today Coats speciality coatings business trading up 24%, price inflation being passed on, U.K. inflation rising fast by any recent historical means, will lead to higher revenues and profits here and pay down of debt will then be faster hence why these type of companies will see shares rise and also hence why multiple bidders are interested in this kind of business, now give us the 285 and it’s all yours lol imho dyor |

Jeffries ups tgt price to 170(155)Buy |
I have made a similar observation here myself. I have been a long term holder but have trebled my holding since the autumn.
Nothing is ever certain of course, however this has to be as good a two way bet as you could find. |
The chart is looking very strong now, so the board have rejected 165 as it seriously undervalues the business and we say we would take £2 ish as most of us have entry points way below that but if you look back just three years these were sitting at 285 and now the business is looking in better shape and even better prospects, shock us all and land a 285 bid after all who would have thought countywide would have went for as much as they did |
I have noticed a few occasions recently were a bid has come straight after a trading update or set of results, I wonder after today’s excellent update if we will get a bid shortly significantly higher than 160, 200-250 would be nice for short term turnaround, longer term it will probably end up above that range is business continues as it is imho dyor |
Reassuringly positive, and I can see why they turned down bid at 160, as they can achieve a better premium as they continue to recover and pay down debt in 2021.

Trading statement looks encouraging - Expect a blue day - subject to overall market derecting due to US meltdown yesterday |
Ok Dozey we are brothers in arms the reason I posted that way is to tell others who start with the main listng for stocks on ASVFN can see that ELM is on the move and perhaps they should take a look |
Solarno: you’ve just earned top marks for your pointless post, and on this board that takes some doing. I claim second place with this one, but if it makes anyone think before posting it will have been worth it. |
Seems to be responding to it's real value. I would anticipate further bid action later this year. |
I was prepared to pay 132P yesterday. It's more than I payed previously but if it does come good at say 200P within a few months that would be a 50% profit in a short period of time. |
That's it in a nutshell..they either deliver improved numbers OR the institutions will happily accede to any renewed bid approach. Below 130p must be worth a punt? |
Yes agree, the revealing part was this:
"an expected re-rating of Elementis' business to Innospec's materially higher valuation multiple" |
I have just added again. In the recent Rosemary Barnyard interview she said that she thought the rejected bid of 130P underwrote the share price at that price. I think the same logic could now be applied to the rejected bid of 160P.
The rejection statement was very bullish, in fact it was like a mini trading update. If they live up to those expectations then the share price should continue to do well as a recovery play. If they do not live up to those expectations then I can't see how they could reject another bid. In fact the bullishness they have shown might prompt another bidder to have a go before the price gets away.
Win win is a bit of a cliche these days, but I feel that is what we may have here. |
