Rar100 - New investor or new to EKT ?I think EKT will rise but I have not committed significant fund .... yet. It's high risk and I prefer to see the numbers before commuting more funds.

Agree,I'm loading up here although in time to come Bulgin will get heavily hit if there is a hard Brexit /no dealKeith once said to me "we are finished if we leave Europe " Value here though and I'm aggressively buying Andy the FD is a superstar and has turned ekt around

I have added at 36 but very conscious of the downward pressure. Preparing the Sand.

I'm not aware of any -ve news in the public domain, Brexit concerns maybe.

It's on a rather high reported multiple but adjusted shows value

Mine is just a trade ..20pct in it ?I'm not that bullish going forward as there is an earnings recession and Europe is slowing down still(although one or two green shoots in Spain)Agree 3p downside ,buy the red Management here aren't great but the FD is brilliant and has engineered the turn around There is no retail following because mgmnt showered themselves with options at 5p as a reward for failure

hatfullofsky - 3rd May results I think. Do you think they will go up, not sure if that happened last year, I'm a new investor - since June 18.
All comments welcome...

I'm also back in today. Positioning for the results (and the Q1 update). Will buy down to 35 then get nervous and assume the ostrich defence.

Really liked this from the Feb update "The order book has continued strongly into the new financial year and Q1 sales are expected to set a new record." That was only 3 working days into Q1. Optimistic or real ?

What would you think if someone borrowed some houses owned by you and your neighbours from the mortgagees and immediately sold them on the market ?. Sent out a circular saying there was a possibility of a motorway going through the area. With the glut of houses for sale, prices would crash and other owners would then get theirs on the market super quick to try and sell before the prices went even lower. What was once a respectable area is now a not so vibrant area. The ‘someone’ then buys the houses back at the lower prices and gives them back to the mortgagees. Job done and pocketed a good wedge and you still have your house - albeit a lot less in value. The ‘someone’ has pocketed a good sum but at yours and the other owners’ expense. Is this legal ??. No - of course it is not as this would be a ludicrous situation. It is however legal to do it with your stocks.
The AIM is less liquid than the main markets and is a breeding ground for this practice.

Price still steady as we go forward to the next step price upwards and onwards! Just a bit of reassurance meanwhile to any potential new buyers here, is Money Weeks recent stance view on the Brexit situation if Mays deal doesnt go through and if you dont want to read it all just go to the last paragraph ...

Hello IamBV,

Many thanks for the info, yes it does have a chequered history and I can see how many investors will have not liked a lot of the co's actions (and some still don't)
I hope you read the article in Inv. Chronicle, you may like what you read.
I have taken a hit from Plus500, FDEV and Petrofac, I'm selling Petrofac & Plus at loss and will put what's left into EKT.
FDEV I'm waiting for year end results, probably will sell and put that £££; into BUR.

Hello rar100,

I have been invested here for 8 years and at one time my investment was down 85%. The company had let Neil Ricketts go and he started up Versarien, using ideas that they possibly could have used. Survival seemed to depend on selling off bits of the company. I had virtually written them off.

The directors put a lot of store in Checkit, their new venture, but this project was very slow to get going. Luckily Bulgin, Their best asset, started to make much more money, much of which was poured into Checkit. It is fair to say that many investors thought that this was a bad ploy but the company may have got lucky with what is a very simple idea and momentum in the product seems to be building. Who knows?

Well my original investment is now up, albeit only 24%, but I am prepared to hang in here because it could just happen that Checkit becomes very big. Also the share could have have good defensive qualities when markets deteriorate because of the ever-increasing importance of temperature monitoring and control associated with food safety.

Yes very good article, I think I will top up on the strength of it.

It sounded very very positive for extremely good end of year results in May.

I am not clued up to EKT at all apart from their website and bits of press, but posters here seem to be writing of very bad stuff - direct by the company to Directors gain/shareholder loss. And the wider market for EKT products shrinking.

Time to sell out?

It's a damn shame if so, not many shares doing this well over the last 8 months.

Opinions will be warmly welcomed (I'd like to hear some positive points too if that's possible)

But he will be the man laughing as he managed to buy stock off the jsop at 5p(shareholders took enormous loss) when there were no sellers in the market.Keith has now made millions in Ekt even though he hasn't improved the business or made any more profit for ekt ..in fact he has squandered Millions in shareholder value You have to hand it to him..as I always said he is a grand master chess champion as he has managed to shaft shareholders yet increasing his net wealth massively As Judith from Downing once said "reward for failure"Blackss...Keith has had the last laugh and can now sell off Bulgin and retire a v v wealthy man

They have loads of cash in the bank from selling the family silver, admittedly if they hadn't wasted millions on Checkit and that ridiculous buying spree of "companies that needed fixing" to fix 'sic' they would have a lot more.

Daley once said
"The dividend is Sacrosanct"

sacrosanct
ADJECTIVE
(especially of a principle, place, or routine) regarded as too important or valuable to be interfered with.

-------------
Look after the share holders Keith ?? not bloody likely..lol

What price do you see Ekt at if they can't manage to offload Bulgin? You were quite bearish at 5p which I disagreed about but with Italy in recession and France and Germany entering one the prospects for Bulgin seemed to have worsened immeasurably. Can they break through into the US,I doubt it very much, will Checkit be a success? Who knows ,but it hasn't been so far and they had high hopes for it years ago Interesting times

But they will sell Bulgin and take a small punt on checkit Selling Bulgin is selling ekt Shame as Bulgin with none of the other investments would've done so well
