18/9/2006 22:08 | Acquisitions In the Annual Report I stated that the Board was optimistic about concluding a transaction in the current year. At that time we were considering two opportunities having reached agreements on price subject to due diligence. The first opportunity, which is a manufacturer of components in Europe and Tunisia, is still under discussion as a result of findings during the due diligence process. Due diligence is currently continuing on another opportunity. We have written off #41,000 as exceptional costs in respect of these potential transactions | spectrum7

03/9/2006 21:51 | Economic slowdown in the china region is going to hit companies like EKT.. I have every reason to post that here. | suncanaria
03/9/2006 21:38 | suncanaria you have no reason to supose that EKT will come up with a profit warning.....please find another thread to de-ramp......thanks. | spectrum7
03/9/2006 21:32 | I think NYSE:NTE is a better choice, it has already issued a profits warning. Next will be EKT. | suncanaria

03/9/2006 13:32 | QUOTE ""Put in a more civil manner, imo Comments on advfn threads can be both attractive and or off putting to potential buyers/sellers but overstating the case can damage that attraction and affect peoples perception of what they might be buying into and add a negative slant to their research!"" 50+ I must say that we do agree on that point. Recent spam posts on advfn concerning EKT have done us no good at all in the popularity stakes. I also agree that the benefit of any advice/comments on a BB are at best doubtful as they are usually unsubstantiated but like you, I think there are investors who pay a lot of attention to BB's and are happy to jump on a passing bandwagon rather than do serious research. I have run a fairly successful BB for GME over the last year where posters have been in touch with the company and shared info. So it can work :-))but at the end of the day, we are all faceless anonymous people on advfn..you wouldn't stop a stranger in the street and ask his opinion on an investment so i can fully understand your scepticism here :-) I will moderate this thread as best i can in an attempt to give new investors a "safe haven" and with luck, it may benefit us all.. All the best to you ! S | spectrum7
03/9/2006 12:39 | spectrum7 - Thank you for your offer but I simply don't feel the need to share my thoughts on this company with other advfn readers or ekt holders, mainly because I hope that most holders have done their research prior to buying and would buy or sell as and when they feel the time is right for them. I do not believe there is a huge pool of avid readers on advfn just waiting for someone to point them in the direction of a good investment, so we are left with my original thoughts (which are more vociferously stated on the other thread.) Put in a more civil manner, imo Comments on advfn threads can be both attractive and or off putting to potential buyers/sellers but overstating the case can damage that attraction and affect peoples perception of what they might be buying into and add a negative slant to their research! Good Luck with your threads and your investments......50p | 50plus

01/9/2006 10:36 | Elektron flying lately on growth prospecs. Without the recent initatives under way Elektron is showing fantastic growth propects lately. The key to EKTs success are the 3 directors at Elektron's helm. Chris Leigh is a fantastic FD and is capable of being a FD of a far bigger company. Adrain Girling did himslef have experience at Spirent and he is also capable of running a far far bigger company however he has decided to transform Elektron into a biger company himself and make his mark. That he is doing. The non exec Keith Daley has merchant training and he is the guy responsible for looking for acquisitions. Elektron is now entering a new phase. They have already acquired arcolectric and that acquisition has already payed of bringing in million to this 14 million cap tiny company. Paid of all net debt and given the company good margins. Elektron exports over 65% and is set to grow rapidly in the far east. Investors now recognise the potential from this company. The company is transforming its chineese factory into a foreign owned enterprise to sell direct into the local maketplace. China is the fastest growing economy. Sales personal are alredy being trained up as we speak in all the major cities. There is rumour of another acquisition and the company have indicated news before the year end. Who knows maybe anytime now. Elektron's stock is tightly held that is why the stock is flying on pittiful trades. The freefloat has been eliminated. Any serious buying and EKT could double or treble in a short space of time. | the skies the limit
