PEA looks interesting. LFL up 7.5%, despite big drop in PBT. Current trading strong. Hmmm

Brent below $25 for the first time in ages - oil watchers!!

The horse isn't lame, just frightened at the thought of Ruth in riding gear holding a whip - wouldn't you be?

lemain - I said asthma prevelance is plateauing. The number of asthma DEVICES is declining as people switch to combination devices. The moderate/severe asthmatic should be taking a long-acting beta2 stimulant combined with a steroid - which - if taken correctly should drastically drop his/her usage of short term ventolin.
The bottom line is less inhaler numbers being needed - especially short term bronchodilators like ventolin/albuterol - formerly driven by the moderate/severe asthmatics usage - hence part of the problem for bpk, which is likely to worsen.

Only a couple of things I've picked up on Bloomberg thus far. You really must try a better standard of hotel Croc!! ;-)))

News Corp in Oz reported strong results on the back of higher ad revenue in the US. Watch those media stocks, esp. WPP?

Schwarz Pharma report today and there will be news on their generic product to rival AZN's Prisolec.

Will post others if poss.

Best of luck. Looks like an up day? FOMC tonight 19:15.

Best of luck

Morning, Croc, hope you didn't get your blue touchpaper wet ;-) No fireworks here in the US of A, at least not of the gunpowder sort, just waiting for the election results (still Toosday here in California.

Good morning.

Time Traveller, thanks for the reply. I haven't traded SCTN since last week. Fortunately I've made money on it on every trade bar one, but like you have become uneasy. It has also stopped having the larger swings that it did.

Yes still making money but have had three losses in a row so going to reduce stake sizes to rebuild slightly damaged confidence. Thought BG would be a safe one to trade, it was until the day I went long!

Also watching BP for a long, would like to get in below £4 though.

Can't quite believe the movements in the banks, desparate to short them but uneasy about what these crazy Americans are doing pumping everything up. It'll end in tears.

Someone was talking on this thread yesterday about asthma treatment and the drug seretide replacing the steroid and salbutamol inhalers. I've today spoken to a doctor friend about this and it isn't quite as straightforward as you might think. Seretide is a combination inhaler that usually makes the need for salbutamol minimal. BUT, this is only done as an escalation of treatment, not for all patients. My friend was surprised at the suggestion that asthma inhalers are a declining market - he is prescribing more and more as the incidence of asthma rises. DYOR!!!!!!
