Electric Word publishes magazines. Its titles, including School Financial Management, are hardly riveting, but are essential for those they are aimed at, especially teachers trying to cope with regulation.

The company is still very small, and only just breaks even. This week's half-year results showed that organic revenues were up an impressive 22pc and the company is starting to make small acquisitions. Unlike most publishers its revenues rely on subscriptions, rather than advertising, making it a more stable investment.

Brokers' forecasts put the shares on a 2006 earnings multiple of 11, which is cheap. At 7.4p, buy.

I hold ELE but my positive views about yesterday's results have already been echoed above. We just have to wait for others to see the company's potential.

I tried to buy 100k at 7.50 but only got 50k (its not showing yet). They are still trying to fill the other 50k. There is a biggish order out there and I think we can expect to see the 9p, or even more, by the end of the week.

I think I'm right in saying that if this performance was repeated in H2 and we add on something for the acquisitions then ELE should beat FY forecasts - and could well beat them comfortably given the uncomplicated nature of this business.

Yes Don excellent results very pleased with my purchases of yesterday. These look very good. Both a long and a short term purchase. Another Nigel Wray successful investment.

Results.....trading in line.....22% increase in turnover.....now into pre-tax profit.....more acquisitions to leverage fixed costs......online training acquisition to add to bottom line in 06....very positive outlook.

Looks like ELE is in a sound position to go from strength to strength. A definite 'add' on the dips for me.

Yes, a nice bit of profit taking today whch is healthy for new buyers at these levels. Looking at circa 9p pre results.
