Thought ELE already had £13m net cash in the bank - so being sold off for £3.5m only - a nice move for the co buying us out, giving them a nice £13m odd cash - another AIM shambles

Under the terms of the Acquisition, Electric Word Shareholders will be entitled to receive:

for each Electric Word Share 3.93 pence in cash (the "Offer Price").

· The Offer Price values the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Electric Word at approximately £16.58 million.

are you sure - take a look at it's last set of accounts - bank loans due within 1 year £167k -Bank loans due after one year - £61k & net cash £239k

Interim Results to 31 May 2015

Guess they can throw off enouh cash to pay these off anyway or use part of the £12.2m to settle these loans early or they wish - but low loan figure is very good

hybrasyl - I'm in exactly the same position as yourself and no doubt many others. I likewise had completely given up on them, its been such a dismal story for years. However, the recent movement is none the less welcome and I'm curious to know exactly what's driving it?

I think ELE did manage to nudge 11p in Jan 2007 and that was the only time I was ever in profit, since that time its been a steady downhill ride until around the end of 2013 when things started to change. I look on with interest.

What's going on? Has anyone heard any news, or has ELE been tipped somewhere?

Good comment on ELE today in The Times under 'Tiddler to watch':
"Electric word, a provider of sport and education information over the internet, jumped 0.38p to 4.75p after unveiling an 8% rise in profits to £1.9m. Panmure Gordon, its broker, again urged clients to "buy", arguing that the company's valuation and strategy should encourage investors this year."
Would be nice if this sort of comment could stimulate a bit more positive investor interest in the company!

pre, do not understand your statement what is the news leak and the breakout signal? I feel ELE are a buy if the trading statement is to be believed posted in November.
