good point/info

(and useful reminder that EPS or financial numbers are not the only things that matter)

you seem very new to this 'game' if you did make that big buy

lucky you if you have money to make such big single trades !

---

(delayed trades
..of course...that rule allows the MM a chance to try to pick up the shares to fill the order after already doing it when he doesnt have the shares !, he's taken a risk.
if a big buy or sell trade is instantly reported it could affect mkt sentiment & move the share price against that MM)
---

Im hoping there isnt any takeover or similar happening now or ever; if the co. can keep growing turnover & profit then in 5 or 10 years the share price will be much higher & the recent jump will be irrelevant. Look at SDL, Acesso or Next or.... doesnt often happen but it can.

Smithie6, thank you for you input. These shares were my first buy. I'll try using LSE. I bought these shares in the morning, so puzzling that the purchase was reported as a late trade.

(another option is some share buyers from USA after seeing the products at recent construction sector conf. in USA...)

---

If we assume that the EPS target of just below 3p will be met (in current fin. yr I think) & if all EPS was paid as a divi then it would be 5% yield
so for a software co. with high recurring revenue & international sales & in a growth sector connected to 3D

and EPS & turnover have shown repeated growth

then for me the shares are not expensive

if you want an instant trade to buy

then if you want 27k pnds worth & MM hasnt got 'em then he is taking a risk of the mkt price going up and him buying later at a higher price than sold to you & losing money hence he puts up the price to take that/your order.

If you leave a fill order at a lower price then if there is a seller then you get the shares at a lower price but no g'tee that you get the shares. But I assume you know all that.

Level 2, I dont think its needed. reported trades can be seen for free. LSE is easier to use for that imo. doesnt time out like this website

you were the buyer of 27k pnds worth at 57p ?

no blockbuster numbers imo
numbers up but big increase in profit .....

in-line with expectations has been pre-reported
(such unknowns or known just to co. broker shouldnt be allowed)

possibilities are various, I dont want to give my guesses since just guesses & Im waiting to see the full results/news

but
ELCO is essentially a small company with customers & products in different countries
& some products/capability could be described as 'hot', 3D & the use of 3D

acquisition of ELCO is a possibility but would be a ham fisted attempt imo just blindly forcing up the price & only obtaining smallish % of the co. So I dont think it is that.

ELCO making an acquisition or a partnership with a big agent or a big or key sale or good trading in the start to this new financial year are also options.
Anyway, the mkt seems to expect good news & not bad so that is good. Not many weeks till results.

Clearly nobody wants to sell at the moment, which may imply that – and this is totally a hunch – somebody is looking perhaps to buy Elecosoft. The large price move, ahead of prelims later this month, smacks of either some "blockbuster" numbers, another material +ve announcement and/or possibly even a takeover?

Obviously total guesswork though

When I paid 57p, the mid market price was 52.5p. I bought "at best" through ii, but certainly didn't expect to pay a premium of 4.5p. Still, in the long run, hopefully it won't matter. But maybe I should invest in receiving Level 2 information, to avoid a similar situation? I'd be interested in some feedback here.

interesting

28k pnds worth of shares bt at 57p

despite already being up a lot in recent days

late reported trade ( I thought the existing trades didnt justify the jump yesterday/today)

:-)

---

very tempting to slice off a few & lock in some profit....but often a beginner's mistake
... something cooking here imo
..we might have our own guesses as to what.. no rush, look at annual results this year & next year, seems to be growing ok in recent yrs

I was hoping that ELCO would go up from 51p area...but I didnt expect it so quickly...after a fast sizeable rise from 44p area...

lurvely jubbly

but of a pain that the mkt closes at 4.30.....it cant go up at all with the mkt closed !! ;-)

Spot price 52.5p, but had to pay 57p for 48k shares! I only became aware of this company after going through the holding's of IIIR, a niche inv trust. The company has a great concept, which will hopefully drive the company forwards. These shares are for the long term.

up again today

tiny volume

(with a number of bigger trades in recent days that look like bed & SIPP or bed & ISA trades, +ve imo)

a +ve sign imo that the share price has stayed around 50-51p & didnt lose say 50% of its rapid rise up from 42-44p

Let's hope so ansc, From 36/38p to 41/43p prior to the results announcement on decent volume. Any repeat of last year would be most welcome.

In January last year we saw the resignation and appointment of a FD which may have delayed the results announcement. No such upheaval this year as the current FD has been in place since November. Hope he can work some magic with the numbers.

'Notice of annual results' RNS issued on 20th March last year with the results announcement following a week later (27th). Back then the share price strengthened on the run-up to that announcement but, with the price having firmed already recently, I'll be surprised (pleasantly!) if the same happens this time around.

with another buy before of 11k pnds at around 53p

positive signs imo
