03/7/2009 21:32 | Management seem very switched on when making acquisitions, positive news of deferred payment of £109,446 to venders of ENVQ with target revenue exceeded, increasing by 32%. I noticed last October that the last cash payment for Aset of £200.000 was not paid because sales target of £2.65 wasn't met, just missed at £2.53m, but stated that growth was still strong. Very savvy EDD management, I bet the vendors were sick. I expect one or two positive trading statements before final results in November, it's obvious that EPS will easily reach 13p. What will be very interesting is how much brokers upgrade earnings for 2010. | interceptor2
03/7/2009 10:14 | still looks cheap to me - and the Slaters are still buying. I think there has to be a 'significantly ahead' statement at some point based on the last statement. Couple of large trades at the mid gone through - short term seller around imo but if he's gone or nearly gone these will be back on the up imo. CR | cockneyrebel
03/7/2009 09:07 | This may have peaked. Going from 10 to 100+ is not bad anyway, is it ? | nicedude1976
03/7/2009 06:56 | Earn out levels being more than hit by the look of it - expecting a 'trading ahead' statement here before long. Nice consolidation point built on the chart - next leg up set to build here imo. CR | cockneyrebel
29/6/2009 19:06 | A powerful image of the demand for learning that has yet to be satisfied especially when you realise that the global population is projected to increase from 6.5bn to 9bn in the next 40 years. | bookworm1
25/6/2009 13:22 | thats over a million shares traded today. | guru
25/6/2009 09:32 | yes, just been watching - that 5K @ 113 was mine - looks like a seller clearing or cleared. CR | cockneyrebel
25/6/2009 09:21 | Large transactions going through today - look like buys. | guru
23/6/2009 20:07 | Yes this wee dip was just a pause for breath! | johnthespacer
23/6/2009 11:07 | Co-incidence I think. We're talking Jim Slater of Zulu Principle. I notice the mm's marked up on the first little buy today - running scared imo. CR | cockneyrebel
19/6/2009 13:35 | Now which Jim Slater are we talking about? The one who started his career with a company called AEC or the professor who works at AEC? Coincidence or what... | bookworm1
19/6/2009 10:53 | Jim Slater's been increasing his holding :-) CR | cockneyrebel
18/6/2009 18:48 | interceptor2 I got the same feeling watching the news about unemployment the other day; the more unemployed people there are the more people get put onto vocational training courses as the government is desperately targeting the 20-25 year olds and trying to avoid them becoming another lost generation by providing them with work based training. | bookworm1
18/6/2009 12:03 | So if the trades are a keen seller how is it the MM's take 1k an hour abo and don't mark down? There's a keen buyer imo and those large trades don't look like they were directors either. CR | cockneyrebel
18/6/2009 11:25 | Thumping great trades again today, there's a keen buyer taking stock of someone here imo. With this lot out the way the next leg up should be good imo. CR | cockneyrebel
17/6/2009 20:48 | I remember reading about this effect in Jim Slaters Zulu Principle, it states " An acceleration in the rate of growth of a company's EPS often provides an excellent opportunity for buying it shares cheaply. The reason is simple - it takes a few months for the change in forecast EPS and, more importantly, the company's growth rate, to be reflected in the share price." When you look back at EDD the most obvious time to buy was 22nd January's extremly bullish trading statement, when Directors picked up shares between 41 to 43p. | interceptor2
16/6/2009 21:37 | Hi Interceptor - I call it the double whammy! The increase in EPS means the share price should rise to maintain the PE rating. But because the company is growing quickly, it deserves a higher rating so this often provides a further boost to the share price as more investors become interested in the company. But for a company growing as quickly as EDD, a PE of 23 is hardly demanding. Take a look at ASC! | melody9999
16/6/2009 08:08 | I keep on expecting some consoladation of the sp, but each time we see a small pullback, there are buyers waiting to pounce. This years chart is amazing, I have rarely been in a company before that have seen such a rapid and deserved re-rating. | interceptor2
16/6/2009 07:57 | Motoring today, new highs approaching. Reckon these have to go a lot higher, forecasts look way too low imo. CR | cockneyrebel
13/6/2009 08:36 | Have a look at the AEC results and share price increase yesterday - has to be rather interesting to holders given the below: ---------------- RNS Number : 9329O Education Development Intl PLC 16 March 2009 EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT INTERNATIONAL PLC Shareholding in AEC Education plc Education Development International plc ('EDI'), the leading provider of educational qualifications and assessment services, announces that it has acquired shares in AEC Education plc ('AEC') the Singapore based holding company specialising in education services. EDI has purchased 1,000,000 ordinary shares in AEC at a total cost of £120,000 as part of a placing by AEC announced on 27 February 2009. This brings EDI's total holding in AEC to 3,000,000 shares representing 11.2% of the enlarged issued share capital. EDI's original holding of 2,000,000 shares was taken as consideration for the sale of EDI's holding in Educational Resources Pte Ltd ('ER') as announced on 3 December 2007 and 11 January 2008. ER is wholly owned by AEC and is EDI's agent for the provision of marketing and customer support services to schools and colleges in Asia which offer EDI's range of LCCI international business qualifications. ER and EDI staff work together closely on business development and operational activities. LCCI International Qualifications have a strong position in the business education market in South East Asia. EDI and AEC are currently reviewing options for increased investment in joint market development activities through ER including partnerships with government agencies in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Guangzhou in southern China. ------------------ 3M shares at 16p = £0.57M. 60% gain yesterday increases value by c £300,000. Not a bad days work! | melody9999
12/6/2009 21:59 | IC was saying that the international part of the business was flat, and that the UK had 70% year on year growth. IC still have a buy on EDD. I agree that EDD will easily make 13p EPS this year, and should see some more positive trading statements this year. 200p target.......... | interceptor2
12/6/2009 18:31 | How does EDD arrive at that? As I see it the currency gain on revenue was £430K. Total revenues were up over £3m. I cannot see how IC reckon that was 'flat'. CR | cockneyrebel
12/6/2009 18:18 | Encouraging results from Singapore based AEC, when you think that EDD International business growth was reported as flat in first half if you exclude currency movements by i.c last week. I was looking at buying some AEC last week but the spread is huge. | interceptor2
12/6/2009 10:05 | Many thanks stegrego for flagging that up Here is the RNS: and their website for anyone who wants to do background reading The synergy between AEC & EDI looks very good. | bookworm1
12/6/2009 07:44 | Great results at AEC this am, which EDD hold a stake in (10%). Looks a buy to me. (so i did) | stegrego |
