04/11/2024 16:59 | Quite cyber but I take nothing for granted these days having been ground down by the markets for the last 3yrs. | soulsauce
04/11/2024 16:49 | Soulsauce, hopefully that's a "when" not an "if"... Given that someone has paid a deposit... | cyberbub
04/11/2024 10:36 | Poised for a whoosh! | kemche
04/11/2024 09:54 | The main thing is this company becomes a much different company if we land that money. | soulsauce
04/11/2024 09:36 | Our current mcap is £6.6m. Pity we can’t see this in the header. | barony
04/11/2024 08:14 | This is one of my best ones at the moment. 8-) | hazl
01/11/2024 20:04 | What a load of codswallop. I have an imaginary number of shares at an imaginary price which is much less than all the other fools. | texaschaser
01/11/2024 19:18 | Ok fair enough Emrys | cyberbub
01/11/2024 19:09 | I have had numerous conversations with many respected people. £5 million is a good estimate | emrysiorweth
01/11/2024 17:45 | Emrys, how did you come to £5m as a figure? Just a best guess, or is it based on any knowledge of the old Mercator assets and liabilities? Personally I would see closer to £7m as being reasonable, unless you or someone else knows anything specific. There's even an interesting possibility that if the buying company has a decent turnover, they might be able to claim 30% relief and not 25% relief, boosting the value of the tax losses further. On that basis I've taken a few shares this afternoon as I think somewhere between 0.5p-0.6p is fair value when the deal is done, and I can't see any reason why it should take more than a few weeks now the buyer has paid a deposit. Everyone has an incentive to get it over the line. Of course the company may be worth a lot more than that in the medium term, depending on their exploration. No advice intended etc | cyberbub
01/11/2024 17:03 | This is rubbish and the pumpers want to sell their loss making shares to you to reduce their gigantic losses. | texaschaser
01/11/2024 16:44 | Well material says it for me. 'A deposit has been received as part of the terms and conditions of the Exclusivity Agreement. The value of the potential sale, as well as the structure of the sale, will be determined in forthcoming negotiations but discussions so far indicate that the potential sale, if realised, would be for a material cash consideration. ' | hazl
01/11/2024 13:31 | I think US$ but that was way back before they got several companies bidding for them so I would hope more along the lines what emry has posted. It would be nice to see 10-15% of whatever they get returned to long suffering shareholders. | soulsauce
01/11/2024 13:09 | Soulsauce, only 5-8M AUD? That seems low based on my simple calculations. Unless Mercator's 'non-tax-loss' balance sheet has a negative value due to outstanding unsettles liabilities? Are Mercator's accounts available for viewing somewhere, or does someone know the answer? | cyberbub
01/11/2024 13:06 | I am expecting £5 million cash | emrysiorweth
01/11/2024 13:01 | Cyber I seem to remember from somewhere them saying they were hoping to get $5-8m which would significantly change the profile of the company, especially now some of their assets are starting to show great promise. | soulsauce
01/11/2024 12:58 | Can I just clarify that the $75M of tax losses at the Aus corp tax rate of 25% will be worth around $18m or £9m, greater than the current market cap?I suppose you would have to deduct the advisers' fees, and the buying company will want to make a profit on it. So maybe £7m to be received? Presumably that £7m itself will be taxable, or would it be a loss against any asset value that Mercator holds in Ecr's account? Are the actual assets of Mercator themselves worth anything in addition? Or are they considered worthless and the only asset is the tax losses? Thanks for any info. | cyberbub
01/11/2024 10:47 | Good luck to you, too, kemche! | hazl
01/11/2024 10:28 | Let's hope so kemche 🤞🤞 | soulsauce
01/11/2024 10:15 | Nick and the Doc bringing home the bacon. I continue to average down. GLA LTHers! | kemche
01/11/2024 08:43 | Companies often valued on their cash these days. It seems to me. IMO | hazl
01/11/2024 08:41 | Great step forward. | barony

01/11/2024 08:28 | Looks like it is shaping up to be another liquidity event for the weak hands to let go. All the better for when this gets fully signed off. | soulsauce |
