Rare steaks 'could put diners at risk of superbugs' The head of a major Government review warns that consumers could contract superbugs from eating rare and undercooked meats, because of the rise of antibiotic use among animals http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/12038056/Rare-steaks-could-put-diners-at-risk-of-superbugs.html

They command a high valuation I believe as any acquirer could drastically reduce costs through using their own distribution network. Anyone done any work on this?

Yes, these were good. Definitely a growth stock at last. It's been a long wait.

I was going to post this am along the lines of wouldn't it be nice to see a pre-interims surge in share price as there are always those in the know before they get released but work got in the way. It certainly looks like we are going to see some price action towards a new record high. I wonder if the interims may come out tomorrow a little earlier than expected?

Nice to see very few people posting on this thread. Normally a positive sign, so long may that last!

I think we're going to see a lot of consolidation generally across the chemicals sector. Realisation of the USA market potential should be transformational for EAH especially if they can increase margins. Hopefully this will be reflected in any takeout price.

interesting recent article in the ft's lex column about animal health. in particular it mentions m&a in the space but says that the regulatory scrutiny makes it harder for bigger companies however this should bring mid-tier companies into play......... i cannot help feel we have something special here

Another move north. Perhaps we may see a gradual rise in to the record breaking numbers in the December update?

Well the share price had quite a choppy ride this week but is more or less back where it started! Only a few weeks to go until the December update which promises to be another jump in revenue/profit. May be next year we'll see the start of the exit strategy for PL?

Surely aivlosin is on the radar of other animal drug companies by now

All bodes well. Happy to hold. A sale is likely in the next few years in my opinion.

Chairman seems VERY confident...... Peter Lawrence, Chairman of ECO, commented "This official MRL for eggs from the European regulatory authorities is another encouraging and positive step in the development of Aivlosin® as a fast growing, truly global brand. It underlines ECO's continued commitment to being a major force in the international market for veterinary pharmaceutical products." and he just bought some more shares!

Great news, gives egg producers outside the EU the ability to use Aivlosin and export those eggs in to the European market. I'm not sure if the equivalent tolerance exists in the USA/Canada.....must check.

Indeed it is. I'm hoping to find some cash to add another chunk before the interims which are expected to be "impressive"! One thing we haven't heard about for a while is the possible anti-viral effects of aivlosin that were very much of interest when we had the swine flu outbreak. I wonder if this is still being evaluated?
