Very bad day yesterday for the airlines. Wow that's going to cost them dearly.

The incident at Amsterdam hit a number of Easy flights over and above Ryan. The general strike in Italy effected Easy as they fly to the main hub airports in Milan. The IOM was hit re Doris to name just a few

Final stats provided by FLIGHTAWARE for delays /cancellations yesterday.


EasyJet Cancelled 78, Delayed 429
BA Cancelled 61, Delayed 334
Ryan Cancelled 5, Delayed 152


A very expensive day for the airlines.

Still no answer for the vast difference in delays/cancellations between Ryan and Easy.

You miss the point - as always.

The Storm has caused major travel chaos today and that is not good for anybody and is to be regretted.

But as a shareholder and for anyone with an enquiring mind, it is not apparent why, with two not dissimilar airlines being EasyJet and RyanAir, there is such an enormous difference in the cancellation and delay statistics from highly regarded FlightAware.

Why was RyanAir- according to Flightaware- able to have so many fewer cancellations and delays?

There will undoubtedly be some normal utterly crass retorts but can anyone profer a serious answer as to why this is the case?

At this point in time at c 17.15hrs, Flightaware are showing the following delays/cancellation stats for today:



Easyjet Delayed 380 flights or 26% and cancelled 61 flights or 4%

RyanAir Delayed 82 flights or 4% and cancelled 2 flights
