The considerable recent fall in the oil price should help with margins

JP Morgan's note from earlier reduced share price target to 670 -

Analysts at J.P.Morgan sounded a positive note on shares of Easyjet following the recent share price weakness that had taken them back to the levels last seen during the previous month of December.
The trigger for the drop had been the retreat in the early bullish sentiment on summer pricing, which had resulted in "froth", due to weaker passenger demand, they said.

However, in their view growth in peak summer short-haul rates of 3-5% "would still be a very good result".

Indeed, it would simply be part and parcel of the "inevitable normalisation" in supply-demand.

Negative growth on the other hand would be problem due to rising cost pressures excluding fuel, but there was little indication that that might happen.

The broker kept its recommendation for Easyjet at 'overweight' but lowered its target price from 710p to 670p.

In the same note JP Morgan reiterated their overweight stance on shares of IAG on account of better upside to estimates on better price versus cost, together with potential tailwinds from restructuring investments.

It's important to understand what has happened here since the very positive H1 results and update. Easyjet are vulnerable to being played and we have seen it twice already.
It's an opportunity if you see what it is.
Several totally misleading articles and another today on the fool. It's sick that a few players can strip money from people supported by negative BS with no place in reality.

Glad to see the rise today as it takes me back to profit. Took the chance to double up around mid 450 once it appeared that the negative momentum had exhausted. Full year results aren't due 'till November but I believe (and hope) that 450 will act as a support level now. I am banking on a steady rise as summer sales news flow starts to filter through.

Looking spookily identical to October 23 when the syndicate did the same thing last time.
See it for what it is.

Oil price is probably the most stable we have seen for a long time 81-84.

40p drop in response to a 90p share price drop. Seems positive to me.
It's a reasonable 12 months target. We are in a very similar consolidation to Oct 23 prior to the rise.

Whereas rather than bashing Ryanair, they will lead and others will follow.

You are full of excuses aren’t you?

Interesting to see Ryanair resuming Israel flights from next week. I guess that underlines the fact that they are struggling in the domestic summer market.
I think that they will find it increasingly difficult to compete with the package offering from easyJet holidays as DIY holiday builders sick of rip off Airbnb head back to packages.
Increasingly we'll see Ryanair move their focus away from the north to south routes.

I’ve bought today based upon chart, showing way oversold and it’s held around its current level (within a couple of percent).

It doesn’t mean I will ramp this, I’m not a hypocrite

Yes but the market is not ready yet. It's not a straight-line between commercial success and share price recovery.
The market only has one eye on the business. Right now it's just second guessing what a weak market will do next.
easyJet need an alternative listing or to leave London to rot entirely.
I agree that it's great value but not necessarily for the pleb traders so the question is there enough informed money that's looking for more than 0.5% margin.
I add.

Great value at these levels. They will be massive beyond Analyst expectations as Sales increase rapidly.

Winning the regional award for best in Europe, the best budget airline in the UK is officially easyJet. The carrier currently offers more than 1000 routes across 36 countries. Cheap and good – congrats, easyJet.

A good reason for the pasty Brits to book easyJet for their summer holiday. Not much point in looking at easyjet holidays for the Costa del Sol as the best was sold out weeks ago. Some inland availability and that's it.
Malta nearly the same situation. We have never known anything like the demand this year.

Sapp, opposite in fact , your constant ramping and promises aren't actually working.

Your assumptions as a paid employee?? Don't seem to move markets.

The results announced recently were marginally better, but still show a loss of £350 million.

The share price is playing out exactly as it did October 23.
Big drop on good results then a couple of weeks flat before moving up.
Now it's around 4.60 in October it was around 3.60.

No amount of deramping BS will change the outcome.

I was at SR Technics MIA this morning for a tour of the workshop. This is the new easyJet service centre for Southern Europe. Impressive set up, 6 bays for A320. Right next to Lufthansa Technics who have a substantial Airbus portfolio.
easyJet has been using SR for years but now own it so they can have priority access for maintenance. SR specialise in Airbus.
easyJet anticipate having 5+ aircraft here in the winter and 2 in the summer, one on resilience and ready to go the other in maintenance.
I got to talk to several people well connected.
This summer will be the point at which easyjet step forward with market share and revenue.
Anyway back to work in Valletta
