23/11/2017 13:52 | Not so - AFAIK a company can proclaim an interim dividend when it likes (providing there are distributable reserves) although a final dividend has to be approved at the AGM. Some companies (BVXP comes to mind) get round this by proclaiming a second interim. A dividend out of the blue was the case of that received 6/8/13 see: when you phoned the company to find out what it was all about! Of course, if the shares are traded other rules come in to allow for xd dates etc. | sharw
23/11/2017 11:50 | I eventually (it took a few phone calls, I can understand the company now operating with a skeleton staff but even the skeleton appears unobtainable a lot of the time!) managed to speak with someone at DYS to find out the outcome of the meeting held on the 9th November. He (a 'happy shareholder' himself) was able to confirm that the required resolution was passed but seemed somewhat surprised when I mentioned that the [meeting] circular indicated the results were going to be published next month; as we know, they usually appear in March(ish). So I've checked: 'The Group has progressed further disposals in the financial year to 30 September 2017. Full details of such disposals will be provided in the Company's report and accounts for the year ended 30 September 2017, which are expected to be published in December 2017. Following a detailed review, your Board has already identified that the Company has surplus cash which it wishes to return to Shareholders at the earliest opportunity. Furthermore, your Board plans further disposals, over the medium to long term, of its remaining investment properties, for which additional sums are likely to be deemed surplus to the requirements of the Group, and which your Board would also like to return to Shareholders, as appropriate, in due course. Your Board, in considering how to effect this return of surplus cash to Shareholders, wishes to pay an interim dividend in respect of the surplus proceeds from the sale of the above mentioned assets. The Board anticipates (subject to the approval of the Capital Reduction by the Voting Shareholders and the Court) that the dividend payment will take place by 31 December 2017.' I've always believed, rightly or wrongly, that there usually needs to be at least a three week interval between publishing results and paying any dividend mentioned (perhaps someone could confirm?). If that is the case, the results will need to be published during the first few days of December. | ansc
20/11/2017 19:00 | thanks sharw, I will, mainly because they have also messed up on my TPL shares, and they have really really messed up on those. TPL de listed from LSE to a Canadian exchange. III sister co TD Direct managed to sort all their shareholders out 4 or five months ago, and they can trade their stock. I am still waiting to hear back from them as to when they will sort the debacle out so that I cn trade. Sorry for the off topic to everybody else. regards Brad44 | brad44
20/11/2017 17:53 | Brad44 - thanks for letting us know the outcome. They have at least admitted that they failed on 3 separate occasions on this. This indicates an appalling lack of internal controls. If you feel like taking this further (particularly given the dreadful first reply and the fact that other customers may be involved) then you may report this: | sharw
17/11/2017 20:34 | guys you have all been really helpful, thank you. im having a real battle with ADVFN regarding TPL as well, but i thank you all for your assistance..see below! Thank you for your secure message dated 15 November 2017 I have further investigated this for you by calling Neville Registrars who are the registrars for your Dyson Stock. I have checked the Dividend dates and I apologise for any confusion but you are entitled to these payments. I genuinely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Should you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to get in touch again. Our response time to secure message or email is usually 1 working day, although in times of high volumes we may take up to 5 working days. | brad44
15/11/2017 13:42 | You can also get company accounts for back years at | pldazzle
15/11/2017 13:26 | Brad44 - I am appalled at the quality of the reply you received although it reinforces my own opinion. To state "the company has not been trading as a public limited company" is utterly false. It's just that its shares are no longer traded on LSE. What also worries me is that I suspect you are not the only iii customer in this position because the company delisted while trading was suspended so there was no chance to get out. Normally if a company announces delisting most people will sell in the market before it happens. I suggest that you reply saying that they are telling you lies - Dyson Group, company number 00163096 is still a PLC and the dividends are recorded on the company's accounts. Will they please contact Neville Registrars, with whom their nominee holding will be recorded and ask whether they were sent those dividends. | sharw
15/11/2017 09:06 | ansc thanks for this, yes you are right, i'm going to get out of III they are proving worse than useless on any issues | brad44
15/11/2017 09:00 | Brad44 - If they can't find any information on dividends, then it's time you changed broker! Refer them to Dyson's website [ click on the 'Investor Information' icon and they'll find most of the information there. | ansc
15/11/2017 07:40 | See the response from III below. looks like i will have to do their job for them Thank you for your secure message dated 11 November 2017 Your stock in Dyson stopped trading from the market back on the 17 July 2009, since then the company has not been trading as a public limited company. I have checked for these dividends you refer too and I am unable to find these dates. Are you sure these dividends payments do not relate to private shareholders within the company? If you could provide me with a link to where you found this information i will be happy to continue to investigate this for you. Alternatively i have provided contact details for the company itself if you wish to check your enititled for any dividends. 11/11/2017 13:09 | thank you all very much indeed. i have sent a response back to III expressing my anger and frustration with their incompetence thanks again, i will let you know how i get on with them | brad44
11/11/2017 12:25 | Agree with ansc figures: 28/3/12 was on sale of Saffil 6/8/13 was on sale of Builders' Centre 31/3/17 was on sale of properties. Brad44 - from my own experience iii's back office function is very poor. Assuming you have copied and pasted from them "Any dividends you would of received would of been credited" says it all about the quality of the service. You need to secure message them with amount of dividend and date. I wish you luck as when I tried to chase a missing dividend (in a quoted company eventually paid a month late) with them it resulted in this: "I am sorry that we have fallen short of your expectations. I have requested an update from our Dividends team however I have yet to receive a response and resolve the matter within the regulator's (FCA) stated timescale to close dissatisfactions. As per FCA regulations we have until the close of business the following working day to resolve the matter from the point the complaint is raised. As we have failed to do so we are now treating your enquiry as a formal complaint". | sharw
11/11/2017 11:23 | That's interesting, I'll have to check if I ever got the 2012 one. My numbers are obviously just for the 2013 and 2017 dividends. 1.6p x 12466 = £199.46 | v11slr
11/11/2017 09:07 | From my records, dividends received since 2008 (with approx. dates) were: 28/03/2012 - 3.79p/share 06/08/2013 - 0.5p 03/04/2017 - 1.1p | ansc
10/11/2017 22:24 | Brad44. I can confirm 2 payments made. The last received was an interim dividend for the year ended 30 Sept 2017- Record date 17 March 2017 - Payment date 13 March 2017. Payment number 95 At the rate of 1.1p per share. Not sure when the previous one was received but you should be able to back calculate the amound due by using V11SLR's data- Hope this helps. | pugugly
10/11/2017 19:13 | That may have been the last payment while they were listed but I've received 2, I think, dividend payments since then. I can't see the actual dates and times on my a/c but they add up to just over £199 on 12466 shares. Hope that helps. | v11slr
10/11/2017 18:58 | hi i chased up III they reckon the last dividend was as below, is this correct nk you for your secure message dated 9 November 2017 The last dividend payment for this stock was back on the 26/06/2008. Any dividends you would of received would of been credited to you. Should you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to get in touch again. Our response time to secure message or email is usually 1 working day, although in times of high volumes we may take up to 5 working days. 31/10/2017 11:36 | thanks guys, they were purchased through III. I will chase up with them. | brad44
31/10/2017 11:27 | sharw - Not necessarily. It may also depend how Brad acquired the shares. He could have bought them "certificated" but for whatever reason the certificate never reached him. Or he could have received a certificate but then lost it. Possibly he has since changed address, so that dividends are not reaching him. If possible Brad should make enquiries with the firm through whom he bought the shares, or with the solicitors etc if he inherited them, etc, giving dates and details. Depending on the outcome, he may then need to make further enquiries with the registrars; they are Neville Registrars Ltd, Neville House, 18 Laurel Lane, Halesowen, West Midlands B63 3DA. If it transpires that there is a certificate that needs replacing, he is likely to be charged an indemnity fee. | pldazzle
31/10/2017 11:07 | If you haven't got a certificate then the shares are in a nominee a/c. When the company delisted some brokers were happy to continue doing this as crest is still used but others insisted on sending clients a certificate so the first thing is to check how these are held with your broker. | sharw
31/10/2017 10:41 | can anybody help me out here. i had shares in this compnay but i have never been paid a dividend? how do i get my share certificate? | brad44
24/10/2017 13:12 | Thanks, sharw. The following extract from the document unfortunately gives us a clue as to how the company fared during the year to 30th September, 2017: [Following the dividend paid by the Company in March 2017 and taking into consideration the retained profits for the year to 30 September 2017, the Company does not currently have sufficient distributable reserves to pay the intended dividends.] Not much change there then! | ansc
24/10/2017 11:37 | sharw:> Many thanks for information - be very nice to get something back. | pugugly
24/10/2017 11:30 | Notice of an EGM this morning that will enable another dividend following the sale of two more properties: | sharw
