Wow! An interim dividend of 0.5p/share paid today, although no interim results on the DYS website.

Just checked their website to make sure they're still in business ! Pleasantly surprised as the site has been updated since I last looked in and now is pretty slick.

Nothing is said about relisting. The next move will be to complete the sale of the Building Centre. Then comes the disposal of property (5 year agreement with St. Modwen from Nov. 2011). I suspect it will be after that when the directors will propose to either sell the remaining operating business and wind up the company or relist it.

A profit of £26.6m is recorded for the sale of Saffil and the net proceeds of £43.3m were used to repay debt (group now net cash £2m), redeem the pref. shares, pay the special dividend and fund the £7.756m of bonuses paid, of which £4.835m went to the 3 directors.

sharw what's your view on shares being relisted? how did the director pocket £4m ? Saffil was owned by the company and so money should have gone to pay debts?

wish I had learned a lesson, however have lost a load on YELL 8(

Annual report arrived this morning.

The Builders Centre is now being sold.

Assets per share 7p - exactly the amount of the recent trade on LMMX!

Operating loss of £700k on the continuing businesses.

Thanks to the incentive scheme in relation to the Saffil disposal the highest paid director pocketed £4.4m.

clangor they wrote off so much assets I wouldn't be surprised to see a profit, then again holders of toilet paper will get nothing!! 8(

Bored to tears with the snow now, so bored that I thought I'd scan through DYS's website just in case anything of interest had been added since I last looked 10 months ago (that's how bored I was !).

Somewhat surprised then to discover that their Zirconia and Tin Oxide businesses seem to be doing quite well; there's even a website - - which is worth a look. The division is listed as Dyson Thermal Technologies and business has increased to the extent that they were actually advertising for an 'Assistant Operations Manager' back in November last year. One or two interesting News snippets listed as well.

I'm almost tempted to say all may not be lost after all. Annual results should be out towards end-March so not long to wait. I think they could be a lot better than I've been anticipating. Hope springs eternal !!

clangor2 - you say the punter who bought at 7.2p did well but (unlike others) Neville never give an indication on the tax voucher as to the record date. If the shares changed hands just after that unannounced date it will be the seller who did well!
