And that is probably true for all, creating the volatility.
Is oil going up or down.
Are we creating better income for workers - (affecting confidence up/down in house buying etc depending upon each persons view)
Supermarkets seemingly compelled to evolve to survive, creating more work/creativity for packaging co's.
Naff weather.

On low volume, but a nice rise today ... 2.5 million traded

Markit's purchasing managers' index (PMI) for euro-area manufacturing rose to 50.8 in December from 50.1 a month earlier, compared to forecasts for a reading of 50.5. A reading above 50 signals expansion.

'DS Smith in talks to acquire several corrugated box businesses in Turkey, Greece'


BRUSSELS , Dec. 10, 2014 (RISI) -

UK packaging giant DS Smith is set to considerably expand its footprint in Turkey and Greece. The firm has announced that it is currently in talks on possible acquisitions with several corrugated box businesses in those countries. The assets under discussion are five plants located across Turkey's western seaboard, including a 150,000 tonne/yr paper mill in Turkey and box plants in Greece, DSS's spokesperson said.

While the firm's CEO Miles Roberts said during the earnings call for DSS's H1 2014 results that the firm is considering buying two box plants in Greece, one located near Athens and one near Thessaloniki belonging to "the local market leader with 20% market share," the firm's half year results report refers to three plants in Greece.
