Apparently there was a comment in Questor column of Telegraph yesterday, 22 Oct. Does anyone have the gist of this - I don't subscribe?

All reported today. Rise probably insider knowledge that confirmed dividend would be paid vs slight discount for risk that it wouldn't. Best news is that Emirates have confirmed A380 is profitable on at least some routes even under covid conditions.

Well we have another dividend in the bank - seems we can live only from qtr to qtr currently.

Interesting half yearly report
So Emirates have returned 10% of their A380s to some sort of service, though none of 'ours'. Essentially current share price reflects all future div payments and nil capital return , or some combination of a residual value and reduced divs.

Was puzzled by the small rise in share price earlier this week. Insider knowledge, or maybe one of the other DNA companies reported a couple of days earlier?

I also note that LGIM substantially reduced a few weeks ago.

I owned this a few years ago and a friend alerted me to the fact they would have only a tiny residual value. C-19 has speeded the demise up.

It doesn’t look good.

Good to see that full quarterly dividend is being paid again. And yet no movement in the sp

AA4 report this morning has discussion of impairment values. Looks like they’ve chopped 1/3rd off. Their fleet isn’t entirely A380 but some of their leases are to Thai as well as Emirates

Matt, my notes tell me we go ex divi 23 July, payment 29 July.
I'm a new holder here, and this will be my first divi, so not yet certain I am upto speed on this.

Thanks for posting, I think it definitely still has a place flying between hubs where slots are at a premium, will be a while until flight volumes are back but will be eventually

It has to be coming as they have contacted other lease companies. They have the cheapest fuel costs for years but are not flying. I only own dna and aa4 and I would prefer them to pay off debt As don’t know how long this will last.

Quarterly reports now out, no contact from Emirates which is good news I guess. Anyone got any ideas as to who/what might be behind the big 2m trades going through here and on DNA2

They probably lease two thirds of their fleet so you would be talking billions. They just need to be able to start to fly again but when is the £64000 question.

Lots of talk about Emirates cancelling the contract
Wouldn’t it be cheaper for them to buy the company?

AA4 and DNA funds are managed by Nimrod capital. So they will have spoken to Emirates already about all aircraft. I would guess that AA4 is being targeted differently to the DNA assets because the leases are shorter for the latter. Difficult to ask for them to be amended or a bit of pain sharing when you only have a couple of years left. I am guessing that distinction is why DNA are carrying on paying dividends whilst AA4 isn't. Nimrod may give some form of concession to Emirates in order to keep them sweet re future business. Hopefully the board are on the case and pushing against any sweetheart deals.

Thanks Rob. More detail here
Sometimes I'm surprised the share price hasn't fallen further. It's easy to envisage a downside scenario where lease payments are truncated and residual values fall off a cliff since if only a proportion of the fleet is left flying in 2024 the demand for spares will be multi-decimated.
