21/12/2004 08:19 | I have just read an interview of Mark Slater who has been buying Dominos and apparently Nigel Wray thinks in time they could go to £7. Anyway this morning in a co with a market cap of over £100m there are only two thousand shares available at the offer price of £2.30 (electronically) so it looks like it is set to rise again today. Edit- As I was typing this the bid increased to £2.25 Edit again 9.29 now only 1k available electonically | hybrasil

19/12/2004 17:43 | It never ceases to amaze me how little interest this thread raises. Compare it to some penny dreadfuls like aerobox which has people (myself included ) posting every minute - literally. DP is a fantastic stock in fact it is my best ever stock market investment and I just dont think the investing public appreciate it. | hybrasil

07/12/2004 20:41 | How do you know these didn't include the 250k shares Halpern sold last month? I dont buy the cheese shortage - I mean is chedder made in Cheddar, stilton in stilton - they don't source this stuff from master cheese makers. I will buy back again when the price begins to tick up but they provisioned a whack of money/share options last year for themselves for targets over the next five years. That really got up a lot of small shareholders noses and this whilst it is on AIM, Domisnos will source its share buyers from that client base. The business plan is sound provided they avoid the one shoe fits everyone approach and like all brands they will go out of fashion - "not Domino's let's try Monopolies" (now they own ALL the pizza shops). Also, let's understand 'mom and pop' is a patronising US term and yeah those shops are just going to sell up and let JOe make a million next door - you wish. Sounds like Susier doesn't buy pizzas : ) I was a very happy invester in 2003 and got out around 172p mark. Maybe next year this can tick up 25% but I don't see higher than 250p - pretty good when all's said and done, but it needs some consistent buying before I get back in. Only my humble opinion of course | silverfern
01/12/2004 10:04 | The Company has purchased 150,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 200p per share. This brings the total of shares purchased by the Company this year to 800,000 shares. 22/11/2004 08:22 | Majka - I make notes every day for myself for research purposes. I took a note earlier this year (29th July0 - Unfortunatley I've ommitted to note the source, but they were tipped to treble (or more than treble) over the next five years. I don't always believe what the tipsters say, but it's good to read what you can and form your own viewS. Anyway, I've typed out below what was on this particular note :- Quote "Dominos Pizza's business model in such that franchisees pay Dominos £200,000 for a franchise. Franchisees are cash cows and 17 franchisees are already millionaires. Each franchesee pays a levy to Dominos UK which is poured into TV advertising so the more franchises there are, the more Dominos can advertise, building up its own sales and driving mum and pop operations to the wall. The marginal cost of delivering cheese, tomatoes, olives etc. from central stores drops each time a new franchise opens as the high central overhead is shared among more openings. Implied share price for 2009 is £7.00." Unquote Have also read various newspaper articles over the year that seem to imply Dominos will meet its growth targets. There seems to have been a lack of newsflow of late, and as I've seen with other shares I'm in, the price seems to either stay static or drift until the next set of results or news is released - I think DOM's will be some time in February. Good luck anyway - I'm still holding, but maybe not until 2009!! | susier |
