@113Mike - from invwstopediaAs long as you purchase a stock prior to the ex-dividend date, you can then sell the stock any time on or after the ex-dividend date and still receive the dividend. A common misconception is that investors need to hold the stock through the record date or pay date

I opened my short around 4pm yesterday and closed it in the morning at average profit of 30% (profit warning percentage). Coincidentally I received my tumble dryer from Currys today. I expected a negative TU today based on the similar reasons stated by someone in earlier posts (e.g. Insider selling, phone upgrade reduction, wages, currency, online competition, Brexit, very high PBT previously, share price downturn, etc). I strongly believe there would be a second profit warning soon and share price downturn may not stop. Hence, I would stay away from Dixons. IMO GLA

the trend is down and profit forecasts will be revised downwards further in a few months time.i expect this to fall to 160p again tomorrow.lets see.

everyone one who has gone long this stock since December 30th 2015 and held has a position that is under water. That is simply irrefutable

That is apart from those who went long at 160p odd at the bottom today and have now closed out. .. they have made money

In that context I think the day traders have done rather well.

Topped up right at the end, no brainer imo.Overdone today. Phone business is a minority and a one off this year. Negativity -10-30m so small overall.iPhone 8 and Xmas sales on their way. Most ppl buy contracts no direct phone. I guess it must be an older generation not getting this with their Nokia 3310 lolGla

who's going to sell you the gaming laptop? dixons probably. personal technology spending and use is only going one way, up. more cost cutting to come next year, balance sheet is fine, dividend yield over 5%
