31/1/2022 11:08 | CWA1, A purchase at 'a little under 186p' means you're well underwater on this one ;0) There is info at the bottom of the header on dividends. However, quickly, the situation is rather confused and it depends on who your broker is. It shouldn't, but but does. Yes there is withholding tax as DEC are domiciled in the US for tax purposes. So, theoretically it should be 15% withholding tax in an ISA and 0% in a SIPP. However, to my knowledge ii and HL both handle the tax situation 'correctly', but some others don't. There does seem to be a problem with brokers that are a branch/arm of a bank (allegedly), for reasons better explained in a link in the header. | ![]() cassini
31/1/2022 11:08 | CWA1, I presume you mean 106p. All info re withholding tax is in the header. FYG I pay zero tax in a SIPP. | ![]() br1an
31/1/2022 10:57 | Good Morning All Decided to join your, ahem, merry throng this morning, with a purchase at a little under 106p. Based mainly on yield considerations allied to my current expectaions that energy prices should be firm'ish for the near term at least. Can anyone advise as to the situation regarding dividends- ie are they paid in full or is there a witholding tax? If so, is there any reasonable way to avoid paying it, or reclaiming it? Thanks for any input. PS: I see that this thread has attracted one of the sad sack "auto down tickers". Do some folk really have THAT much time on their hands? :-) | ![]() cwa1
31/1/2022 07:58 | The situation with Russia/Ukraine will also play into the short & medium term pricing dynamic. The EU will try to reduce its dependence on Russian gas (even if there is no invasion) - not so easy as the article explains. In short, I only see increased demand for LNG exports from US going forward. hxxps://www.bruegel. | ![]() asp5

28/1/2022 17:31 | I'm looking at adding more, the share price is held back by the methane debate IMO. The US govt is using drones to check rig methane emissions so there is some risk there. The Russian gas weaponisation will drive Henry hub higher due to the EU importing US LNG. The hedges will make the results look poor however it's the FCF that counts and that is growing as the hedges expire. GLA | ![]() simplemilltownboy
28/1/2022 17:24 | Then concentrate on cash flow as that is all that really matters and we are getting nice upside on the 25% that is unhedged this year. | ![]() gary1966
28/1/2022 17:21 | NATURAL GAS 10 mins 4.807 +0.524 +12.23% And we are down to a pathetic 105p. The higher gas goes the worse the end of year numbers will look. Their extremely cautious approach is costing us dear now. | ![]() lab305
28/1/2022 16:38 | This looks to be why Henry Hub gas prices are strong this afternoon, particularly short to medium futures. The US is our largest LNG supplier. We will work to ensure reliable supply of natural gas to the EU to avoid shocks in case of a further Russian invasion of Ukraine. The action seems to stop just over year out, though. However, prices still look to be rising in the last few minutes and the longer contracts have low liquidity/very few trades (as yet) so might respond more in US afternoon trading. 2-year contract free stock charts from uk.advfn.com 3-year contract free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | ![]() aleman

28/1/2022 01:29 | The green revolution has been a bigger govt gift to us than any tax relief. How bonkers is it to close down fossil fuel and neuclear power stations before there is anything to replace them, demonise gas, and thereby deter exploration and drilling new wells, only to have to reverse the rhetoric and assert that nuclear and gas are gree(ish)when half the world (not least the German green paragons) goes back to burning more of the dirtiest coal than for years? I don't see big investment in bringing new gas wells on line though. In the current atmosphere where if its not renewable its evil it too risky sinking a lot of investment in new wells which will not come on stream for years though, so the price should stat high for the foreseeable future. DEC has an ideal business model for these circumstances, the only fly in the ointment being the price it may have to pay to buy further producing wells. Since even the cigarette companies have seen bigger share price rises in the last 5 months than the last 5 years, I wonder if DEC will follow? I completed my intended holding on the 'Glasgow scare', enabling me to keep my average just under 100. but I am sorely tempted to buy more . | ![]() 1knocker
