FCA ARRESTS THREE FOR INSIDER DEALING

More to come surely, linked to the DEC scandal. Blatant market rigging has taken place here in recent weeks. Lots of evidence.

bulltraderpt,

I've given up trading this one even though I had some moderate success. It's too much of a faff being glued to the dealing screen all day,

I'll just see how it goes from now on, I've too many as it is.

Really? How do the shorters make any money at all when they have costs and the price has held above £9 for over three weeks now, not to mention the 87.5c/share they will have to stump up in just nine trading days time?

Bet today no buyback - share price drops back under £9 even NYSE under $11.40 even with 87.5c qtr div . - shorters are making ton of money from this and loving every minute of it at the expense of greedy and gambling investors

Good idea fordtin. That would be perfect timing to get the maximum bang for their buck.

Well of course ford - but that's a reflection of share price - not short interest.

Agreed you got to have a strategy, try playing a game of tennis without one.

Why not?
If shortsellers present them with a share price which makes buybacks a better use of capital than acquisitions, I hope management respond accordingly.

Their capital allocation should NOT be influenced by short interest.

If DEC really want to fight back against shorts, buying back heavily on xd day would probably be optimal.

Shortsellers are probably expecting the share price to fall by at least the dividend amount.

The share price closing up on xd day should be painful for shortsellers after they've had to pay the dividend on the borrowed shares.
