30/5/2023 11:17 | johnheming, the real problem with automated stop losses is that on a sudden dip the sale they trigger may be well below the stop loss price. Very galling if a couple of hours later there has been a recovery! It can work the other way about if you have a few optimistic limit buy orders in. Much more gratifying. It is a pity that it is not possible (so far as I am aware) to place a stop loss at 'X but not below Y'. | 1knocker
30/5/2023 10:49 | That's it . Now will they act and do something ? ......" For our investors. It's going to be a big ride this year, an enjoyable one.” Well the first two months haven't been much fun . | lab305

27/5/2023 17:59 | I wonder some times about automated stop losses which guarantee losses when shares go through various minima. | johnhemming
26/5/2023 14:34 | C'mon guys, 3.5p of the drop is this week's divi which is effectively in your pocket. Add that back to the price right now and we are still at 91p/share in terms of total wonga so we're effectively still stooging around the level we've been at for a while. I'm buyimg a few more. | cassini
26/5/2023 14:27 | #Fordtin, that experiment worked out in your favour.. :o) How low can it go is the next question we all want to know, we had a triple bottom at c90p, and it has dropped through that level, but anything under 100p is a gift really considering the dividend, typically inside the ISA I would be restricted on top ups around incoming PF dividends, but today at 87p I am considering selling something else to free up some cash to go back on.. How much of the weakness is connected to the potential looking US default and the unfathomable dollar strength in the face of it..?, this event will/should be over by Tuesday..? [edit] 85.75p UT... | laurence llewelyn binliner
26/5/2023 12:37 | Laugh or cry. I bought my first lot here for 90p and thought I'd done really well buying at the bottom as it rose to 98p. Ah well I suppose others who have a much higher average are much more in the red. | spawny100
26/5/2023 12:30 | You have got to laugh......it was 98p on Tuesday.....now 87p. | 11_percent
26/5/2023 08:48 | renewed1 - DEC is held by quite a few funds which pay dividends to their own shareholders. To reinvest the DEC divi, they’d probably need to cut their own divi. I don’t think that would be too popular! | fordtin
26/5/2023 07:03 | Doesnt need buyback...just needs shareholders to use the divi to buy more. We'd take out a third of the shares in two years. | renewed1
26/5/2023 06:23 | Insider sale due to resumption in share buybacks restarting soon? Just a thought... | lomand01
26/5/2023 06:15 | There comes a time when value can not be ignored. Trading 1X sales with ~50%+ cash margins with 16% yield paid from less than 40% FCF! Comprehensive annual reports. PWC auditors. If peeps understood the accounting of derivative this would be £1.40 The biggest risk here is that Rusty gives up with public markets and takes this thing private.wouod make sense to me.. | lomand01
25/5/2023 18:26 | DEC share price was 128p when they started buybacks on 2 October last. It is now 88p . That's down a whopping 31.25% . OK before you critics start we have had after tax and exchange 6p in dividend. If you take that into account then it's still down 26.5% Terrible ! When the buybacks ceased on the 30 October the price was 127.1 p . So for that month the buybacks held the price virtually unchanged and stabilized what had been a fall from around 143p. So much for buybacks not being effective . . Further to that when I questioned the company about this they stated that they were taking advantage of the exchange rate at the time. This was around 1.08 and is now 1.23 so 14% higher. This argument does not hold water as shares bought back now would be 17.25% cheaper than in November. They have over 100m in cash so use it and then some, since they are paying out cash dividends at over 14% and they could certainly borrow at around half that. The worst thing is that the company seems unconcerned at the plight of it's shareholders and does nothing to address the deplorable share price. Continuously pointing out the dividend does not in any way placate the situation. We need large investment and the rounds of the institutions that Rusty and his team undertook at the results have patently not worked. | lab305

25/5/2023 13:42 | Worrying - ex div date today and share price starts to drop back - doesn’t inspire confidence at all | stevensupertrader
25/5/2023 10:24 | How low can this go now no longer bouyed up by the prospect of a dividend and a recent director disposal has not helped ? They hit 88p pre dividend which would equate to 85p now to be very close to a low. I will buy more if that happens . | lab305
25/5/2023 10:19 | They're just telling you the company has gone XD and that’s the amount you can expect to receive on the payment date, which is scheduled for 30th June 2023. You can now sell the shares and you will still receive that dividend on 30th June. | fordtin
25/5/2023 10:11 | Just to start the same argument as before dividend of £2,223.24 showing in my Saxo trading account (unable to access it). | oneillshaun
25/5/2023 10:03 | LLB – I got roughly 5% more shares than I sold. Given the dividend (net of 15% withholding tax) is about 3.2%, the experiment seems positive so far. I think general market conditions paid a big part in it though. I guess ultimate success or failure depends on what the share price will be on 30th June, when the dividend can be re-invested. | fordtin
24/5/2023 16:52 | #Fordtin, all the best, please update the results.. :o) I am still accumulating and looking to add tomorrow, hoping for some in the 89/90s but O&G seem to be the only 2 things that went up today on an otherwise red wash day.. The US debt ceiling impasse is weighing heavy, on top of our persistent domestic inflation data this morning leading into further rate hikes with more expensive debt.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
24/5/2023 16:16 | LLB - the likelyhood of getting it wrong more times than winning is why I've only commited 1/40th of my shares to the experiment. 😁 The one thing which might work in my favour is the 15% withholding tax. If the share price drops by the whole dividend value, the 15% tax saving might make a few pennies above the dealing costs & spread. It's a recently retired thing. I'm playing around with things like this because I've become time rich. | fordtin |
