15/5/2017 08:25 | He/She has joined my filter list - no time for wasters :) | multibagger
15/5/2017 06:41 | Good morning all :) Thanks Glennborthwick for clarifying - the blatant ramp sounded right dodgy and would be very surprised if anyone really believed it ! | multibagger
14/5/2017 23:13 | ive found it via studylib.net - no mention of redleg and its a 15 year old study paper. Poor attempt at a dodgy ramp. adc52 you've made yourself look very stupid. hxxp://studylib.net/ In April 2002, Diageo plc (Diageo ) announced its intent to sell its Glen Ellen and MG Vallejo wine subsidiaries to the Wine Group for $83 million. The sale was to include the Glen Ellen and MG Vallejo brand names and all existing inventory but not the vineyards/facilities of the two winer ies. Glen Ellen and MG Vallejo wines typically sold for about $5 – $7 a bottle. These brands did not fit into Diageo’s increasing emphasis on marketing premium wine brands that sold for $10 – $15 a bottle and higher. Wine industry observers viewed the sale of Glen Ellen and MG Vallejo as a move towards brand rationalization, that is, allowing Diageo to concentrate its marketing efforts on a smaller number of more upscale brands. | glennborthwick
14/5/2017 23:05 | Diageo never had redleg so must be a copy paste and change job | glennborthwick
14/5/2017 22:53 | P.S. The Captain Morgan was right down on the bottom shelf in the dark :-D | haggismchaggis
14/5/2017 22:38 | Hi Big7ime, I have paused accumulation for now, but intend to average up to a sensibly priced level whilst maintaining a good margin of safety. Already in with a decent paper profit so far, but early days yet for me. I started accumulating much later than most on here. The Diageo statement seems interesting (?). Appears a wee bit disjointed so won't be surprised if it is fake news. I would like to see the source of the statement myself, tbh....so maybe acdc52 will kindly oblige. Good luck all :) | multibagger
14/5/2017 20:42 | Who wrote that acdc? Strange that they should mention Redleg Rum! It was never owned by Diageo Visited Tesco today where they had restocked which is good, don't like seeing empty shelves as in Sainsbury earlier in the week. They appear to have a good position on the shelf too as the first Rum you come to after the whiskies The're not in my local Waitrose yet though, anyone know if it was it just online? Some msy have thought of taking profits last week after such a great rise and I'm hoping for a little settle back myself as I have thoughts of increasing my holding here. Multi-bagger are you still accumulating? | big7ime
13/5/2017 15:59 | Should we spend so much valuable thread space discussing other contributors? I have enjoyed the rapid rise in DIS share price since January, but without results to work on I have to wonder how many people are simply buying on the rumour............. Finals in June - at last - some facts to work on. pete | petersinthemarket
13/5/2017 12:49 | Prior to him selling out you'll find 100% positive posts, strange how no longer being a shareholder suddenly changes the quality and potential of the company :-D | haggismchaggis
13/5/2017 12:48 | Pastybap, try finding a genuinely positive post from him since he sold out, all I saw was the odd positive combined with multiple caveats and negative comments to give an overall negative post. | haggismchaggis
13/5/2017 09:56 | Haggis, in all honesty I don't think that's the case here. Unless he posts something significantly threatening, material and credible he won't nudge the price whatsoever. He doesn't seem to be trying to do that so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Ps. I have filtered many myself who are blatant rampers/derampers! | pastybap
13/5/2017 08:14 | Pastybap, except that boffshister is not posting honest opinions, he's deliberately thinking up negative comments to try and keep/get the share price down. If you believe a word he says then you are being deceived. That is why so many have filtered him. | haggismchaggis
13/5/2017 02:10 | Finally a sensible post from a proper investor. Good luck to you Pasty. Agree Redleg is a fine rum. We'll have to see if its good enough to crack the US market. Pity that DIS are dragging their heels with the Jago's. That stuff was really nice, much less sickly than Baileys in my opinion | boffster
12/5/2017 18:22 | I am heavily invested here, and see nothing wrong with Boffster's posts. Good to keep a balanced opinion on things. Not a spirits drinker myself, but used my old man as a guinea pig for RedLeg and he absolutely loved it. I have subsequently increased my holding to around 20% of my portfolio. Still appreciate a variety of oponions though, so let's not turn it into a one-sided love-fest like the old O&G boards! | pastybap
12/5/2017 14:41 | Thanks.Saw picture on bottle & guessed. Suppose wanted name associated with Caribbean. | mam fach
12/5/2017 13:32 | boffster sold out in Jan just before things took off ... I will be buying more soon. Good luck everyone Fantastic product | cody1
12/5/2017 13:25 | I'm really not as devious as you think acdc, I just think folk should be cautious buying into a stock trading on 10x revenue when it doesn't sell any sort of must-have product or USP. | boffster
12/5/2017 13:14 | Not going to work Boffster, you have missed the train. | acdc52
12/5/2017 13:05 | Here's an alternative scenario - the recent momentum behind RedLeg starts to dwindle, it loses its supermarket presence just like Blavod did, and doesn't take off in the states just like Blavod didn't. The company struggles along for a couple of years before finally the administrators are called. I'm not saying that is what will happen, but tell me why it can't happen. | boffster |
