Admiral insured my 19yr old son for £699 after VW cancelled his 1 years free insurance, after 10months, for speeding, 32mph in a 20mph zone. DLG wouldn't even quote. VW insurance was awful, tried multiple times to phone them to discuss his policy but, could never get through even after waiting for over an hour on the phone.
Admiral gave us a good deal on both my and my wife's car insurance :)

PS-Excess £1000 on son's new policy.

My son is 20 ....ouch
Direct Line will lose £1600 of premium.
Maybe it means little to them in the big scheme of things ...

Could not sing the praises enough last year when insuring son's first car.
So now , years NcB , and the price is unchanged virtually and we have halved the mileage.
Not quite so impressed this time as they are rather take it or leave it at the moment.
Their choice , I guess.
Still , all an insurance company is, is a bookmaker working the odds on any particular incident. Too much exposure to the younger driver and want us to go elsewhere.

just checked on my portfolio. noticed DLG bought couple of years ago.Down 20%.What a w!£k share,People are convinced big dividends ooooh yes.you look after signed even more down.when div payed this year alone. You better off in another insurance company like L.GEN.or ADRIMAL. you get caught in negative equity.Just saying. What i got not worth selling.Got out other year.As majority.Just warning new holders.better off investing in banks, shares will move more.i not but if you want to be in that field,

I have some chunky dividends to come this month and will reinvest here if DLG stays this low. Not a share I worry about.

Much better than I expected. In force policies down by less than 1% is very good news. I expected it to be much worse than this.

Anyone heard how the Blackrock investment and bulk buys of DLG have gone? Plus why the drop over last 3 days?

Re: Background to UBS downgrade... [12.49hrs today]
'UBS cut its rating on Admiral to 'sell' and its recommendation on Direct Line to 'neutral''.

UBS has cut from Buy to Neutral. Can't see how that has caused the fall today, but probably added a bit to downward momentum.?
