05/3/2018 11:37 | Waiting patiently for 370 under that even better tick tock tick tock | linton5
03/3/2018 08:25 | Gary, you're right - and I would buy (even) more too. I've doubled my whole portfolio by trading and reinvesting income over the past couple of years, so am now taking a more sanguine approach and seeking the more reliable, progressive and relatively high divi payers. I can use spreadbets for thrills and quick profits, in whichever direction (also tax free).. | woodhawk
03/3/2018 06:11 | W,Do not think 354p will come. But you never know DLG have retraced to that level by Skinny,s chart 3 times since Oct 2017,so it would be very nice if it did.Holding enough anyway. But would buy more at that level. | garycook
02/3/2018 18:01 | I'll take my chances Gary - doubled my holding already with a lot bought in last 2 days, first ex-d in a month and next interim in August. Good luck with your 354p, you optimist you! | woodhawk
02/3/2018 15:47 | Woody,Well done.But could go lower yet with the markets.If so I will join you with a few more at 354p for a 10% yield. | garycook
02/3/2018 11:42 | I reckon DLG is now yielding about 9.4% at circa 375p - and most of that payable in the near term! | woodhawk
02/3/2018 08:43 | You wouldn't believe - judging by the last few days share prioe performance - that this share will yield circa 9% (circa 7 times what I might get in a cash account) with a set of great results behind it, would you? And that's all payable within 7 months!! I've now increased my holding by almost 100%. | woodhawk
02/3/2018 08:29 | Just bought for the dividends this year, what a gift Saw your post on another thread Woodhawk about the yield, thanks | return_of_the_apeman
01/3/2018 15:11 | Indeed, the pull-back is a gift to accumulate. Great payout. | sogoesit
01/3/2018 08:42 | Couldn't resist a few more at 382p for a circa 9% yield with three divis (final + special and next interim) due over next six months!! | woodhawk
28/2/2018 09:53 | Ah, yes, but the Div is realised money, in your pocket, whilst the 'capital loss' is un-realised (unless you sell). | eeza
28/2/2018 09:37 | Woodhawk - Of course the shares pay out about 9% over the next 6 months, but really the yield has to be assessed over the year as - every thing being equal the share price should fall by as much when it goes ex-dividend and only getting it back again over a year... So we could gain a divi and lose capital initially | fenners66
28/2/2018 09:32 | Yield is about 9% over next 6 months alone (28.6p ex-D 5 April plus circa 7p for Aug divi). How many years would you take to get that in a bank account? | woodhawk
28/2/2018 08:22 | This 28.6p should entice many to dip their toes in and I can see the share price attacking £4.00 before 5.4.18. That has been said by others, not just me. | billy5
28/2/2018 03:02 | I expect a small rise in the share price up to the ex div date as the 28.6p is very attractive. | pete123456
28/2/2018 01:20 | FTSE never went up as much as the DJIA in the previous session anyway. It's all swings and roundabouts - if DLG dips below 380p, I'll be in for a tranch more. Despite the fact that GSK never seems to get anywhere much, it's been a great little earner for me over the past 3 years, second only to GVC (which I'm currently out of, except for a spreadbet or two). | woodhawk
27/2/2018 23:59 | Woody,Saw the GSK TP.I would sell some at £17.CARD is in recovery mode.Did it last year, and DLG is a diamond for me atm, replacing LRE which I sold out of at 746p.Billy5,Good shout ESUR,held them before, and made a nice profit.Agree around 230p cheap atm.Should go to £3 again in time.Prefer, and own ADM,which report today with ITV,and TW,and PFC tomorrow Woody.Shame about USA last night.FTSE 100 will be down today. | garycook
27/2/2018 19:01 | There's something for everyone in the market isn't there, this is why it's so exciting all the time. I'm mainly Aim and trade a lot with a lot of success but stocks like DLG and PLUS that are churning cash and paying special dividends just cannot be ignored. Bought a couple of thousand shares this morning at the open (doh, I should know better ) but I'm sure there's some good money to be made here with patience. GLA, a nice forum !! | basem1
27/2/2018 17:34 | I have been buying these (and selling and buying back) for few months and hold 22500, which will give £6435 and possibly £1575 July time. These high divi payers are very good earners if bought well in advance of the ex dates before the masses start to participate. Another is Esure in which I hold 10k and they may repeat 2017 and give up 13.5p+ when going ex c.13.4.18. Current price seems quite cheap. I might be completely wrong but it's worth a punt in my opinion. DYOR. | billy5
27/2/2018 15:31 | If you had held these since the IPO in 2013 at 175p you will have nearly got all your money back in dividends.I think if you take this years payments it comes close to 150p. | shauney2
27/2/2018 15:21 | Investors looking for solid income from ftse 100 companies are spoilt for choice VOD TW ADM SSE BP LGEN come to mind. But the absolute stand out is DLG with the history to back it up DLG also has utility like characteristics that risk averse income investors love. | barry276
27/2/2018 15:07 | 11,675 so far, Gary, with £3,339 to come. Propose to add further on any significant weakness. NB nice reiteration on GSK today from HSBC - target price £19.25 or 47% upside.. and 6% while you wait. LOL. Also CARD recovering a bit now. So that's a prospective total divi of 9% in a little over 5 months here then. Nice. | woodhawk
27/2/2018 14:51 | Woody,Nice one.I now have 8,000 Shares and a Dividend to come of £2288,in May,and around another £560 in September.Should be at least a 7p Interim announced end of July. | garycook |
