Buying DPLM is to a large extent buying into a US recovery. I think that will happen this year, not least because it's election year and it wil be four eyars since BUsh loast out in the 'austerity' election and Obama knows what it will mean if he cannot resurrect some feel good in the econmy. Of course it ain't that simple! but if any com[pany can gro win the US it is Diploma

Yeah you make good points guys, still i'm hoping it might return to the long-term trend line (something like 340 might be nice), feels like i could be a bit exposed if i bought in here and the wider market topped out for now. 299 was my price too and i even had it up on a trading screen. We'll see, i'll watch and wait eh, maybe i'll get what feels like the right moment :)

silverfern,
I agree. I have a pretty widespread portfolio but was always looking for 'the next big thing'. After a few of these turned into disasters, I reviewed my portfolio last year and asked myself 'why not add to those shares that HAVE been a success, if the fundamentals still make them seem cheap?'. DPLM fitted that bill and I added to my original holding (158p) at 299p. So much of this game is psychology, eh?

chris why don't you do what I did today and buy anyway - I am an existing holder but if I didn't think they were going to go higher I would sell. I sold in 2008 and failed to buy back in all the way up from 100p til last year. Good luck

Bit gutted i didn't buy in when i had the (many - arghh!) chances around 300. This is clearly a quality co and if i did ever get that opportunity again on some wild sell off, I'd try not to miss that opportunity again! good luck to holders long-term, a great stock imo.

Telegraph market report:

"...Diploma, which makes technical products for businesses, including those in the life sciences industry, eased 4.2 to 380.1p, despite seeing revenues rise 16pc during the first quarter – usually the quietest time of year for the company."

I suspect this is just short term profit taking as up ~25% since November.

philanderer. No further target prices - to be honest I don't remember who predicted the 404p (not me!) - but I did read it somewhere in the last month.

All in the same ballparkwhich is reassuring.

The target of 404p seems easily achieveable, even in these turbulent markets.

Recent target of 404p seems easily achievable for this solid company in the near term. Happy to hold.
