18/9/2023 10:17 | Mr Market does not think so - Now 204p - Down 30p - No 5 on the loser list. | pugugly
18/9/2023 08:30 | Clive Jennings is stepping down as Chief Financial Officer and as an executive director of the Company with immediate effect. At constant currency Group orders down 12%, with Lighting 6% lower than H1 2022 as a result of weak capex orders, Signals & Components 25% lower -- Group revenue 13% lower than the prior year (9% at reported currency), largely driven by the cyclical downturn in Signals & Components -- Gross margin fell to 29.6%, as a result of continued elevated component costs together with lower overhead absorption (2022: 34.9%). The Group had an operating loss of GBP2.5m in the first half -- Net debt at 30 June 2023 of GBP22.7m, driven by the loss in the period, compared to GBP20.9m at year-end 2022 -- Current trading and the full year outlook are below our prior expectations. The BIG question is will the new Chair Neil Johnson be able with Fariyal Khanbabi - Group Chief Executive be able to save this sinking ship? | pugugly
30/8/2023 17:04 | Nothing to see here. Nice stories about women in management from time to time but earnings are going nowhere. BOD allowed delusional CEO to implement a crazy plan to outsource manufacturing. Almost bankrupt the company. Can only hope that a bigger company finds them accretive to earnings. | ledguy
30/8/2023 16:55 | Even sadder because the Roxboro conglomerate that spawned it was actually an excellent business and a very good investment for many years. | jeffian
30/8/2023 16:17 | commiserations - Should be a classic case study for all business schools as to how management can fail a business. | pugugly
30/8/2023 16:00 | I think most people who own these are either pushing up daisies or have forgotten about them. It has been, and still is, an atrocious investment. Edit: for context, i bought these for £10 each over 10 years ago.... | dexdringle
30/8/2023 11:32 | No one seems to care here.......? | chrisdgb
22/5/2023 09:33 | Ticking up....... | chrisdgb
24/4/2023 11:38 | Almost a bid a day at the moment, Aberforth must surely be pushing for action here..... | chrisdgb
14/4/2023 11:43 | Interesting few trades this morning....... | chrisdgb
30/3/2023 12:08 | Results passed without any drama, still believe the shareholder list will be pushing for action...... | chrisdgb
15/3/2023 08:37 | Even a legal expert isn’t going to offer much on the outcome here. Just a legal mess for courts to sort out. BOD failed badly to stop a ridiculous idea from moving forward. They should be liable for the destruction of the company. Dialight is now just a court case. Company dissolved years ago. | ledguy
15/3/2023 08:14 | Any experts on this legal case....? | chrisdgb
08/3/2023 23:12 | This is such a sad story. I held for ages from Roxboro days and it was an extremely profitable investment for me, but when they sold the other businesses and managed to turn a cash generative business with net cash on the balance sheet to one with substantial net debt within 18 months, I was out of there. Thank God. | jeffian
08/3/2023 16:27 | It’s a mess to be sold. Three pieces - optoelectronics, traffic/signals and solid state lighting need to be sold separately. No company would want all three pieces. But the three are too integrated together to break apart easily. Company must start that process. Maybe Dialight survives as one of the pieces. | ledguy
08/3/2023 16:10 | The big guys need to get this sold...... | chrisdgb
08/3/2023 16:10 | Dialight lost direction and leadership years ago. While women leadership is admirable, it shouldn’t be the focus of the strategy. Growth and profit must be the focus. Average company with average potential now! | ledguy
08/3/2023 16:02 | eeeuugghhh.... | chrisdgb
08/3/2023 15:53 | 2 year breakout DOWN - Most of the recovery under new management gone to money heaven , | pugugly
13/2/2023 09:30 | Its a pretty tasty shareholder list, surely a bid this year...? | chrisdgb

13/1/2023 09:53 | It was the weather..snow in December...everythin | diku
13/1/2023 09:02 | They seem to have had an unexpectedly bad December, but they dont seem to know why…. Was it that customer bought in Oct/Nov and are well stocked….total revenue would support that view…. Was it that customers are having a tough time and suddenly decided to preserve their cash positions at end of the year? Neither is particularly good and both could have ongoing effects into Q1. Next trading update will set the tone for 2023…..TBH surprised that this business still exists as an independent business, it would appear ripe for consolidation… | 1jat
13/1/2023 08:46 | Surprised they haven't fallen further to be honest. At least revisit the September low. | tradertrev |
