Competiton is far more intense that it was back in their glory days and their customers having now trialed new suppliers, having been let down by DIA, may well not return - A classic example (imo) as how diabolical (with hind-sight) managment decisions and failure of the then managment to comprehend the execution risk and keep on top of it brought a potential world leader down.

SCSW waxing lyrical about DIA today...

Not unreasonable as the problems are being addressed.
DIA's main market is in US$ ( far from Brexit ).
LED market in a fast growth phase for a few years yet.
They could well recover to what they were IMO.
I don't hold any for now.

N1Singer had a note out on DIA this morning, maintain buy with tp 525p.
They have eps = 34.8p this year, 48.6p in 2020.

p/e still over 20 - Making progress but slowly - rating still too high (imo) Growth of competitors and difficulty (again imo) of regaining the trust of customers lost to competition.

Trading update - We are still in a mess - Do not know when we will have sorted out the supply chains - Not sure how much business we have lost permently to competitors - Will probably not meet market forecasts plus potentially a heavy hit on pensions

Anyone any idea when this will be investable again and at what SP? A forward p/e of 10 feels about right (imo)

Tough situation. Correcting a bad strategic decision will take time and effort. And profits for some time. Still has great potential.

CEO has made a complete bulls up of a well run inventive company, I assume he is an accountant...good with spreadsheets, no understanding of engineering.

Expect he'll get his bonus for being useless like most CEO's rewarding failure seems the norm...

They seem to have taken their eyes off the 3 key points - R&D, production and sales -
Could this be long term TERMINAL?
The market is very very competitive and they seem to be falling behind in all areas -

Declaration - Held but fortunately got out soem time ago as lost confidence in the then management -

The amazing thing about DIA is not that they are now £3.50 a share - it is that they were £10 a share less than 18 months ago.

What a shambles.

They went in the wrong direction by outsourcing but now pulling back. Might take a few years to get back to where they were but no choice. A lot of infrastructure was destroyed in the process and margins took a huge hit. BOD was sleeping while this took place! Not a quick recovery but good 2-3 year bet!

Give the new CEO time to kick out the jams, brothers & sisters.....

Not pleasant if you bought on Monday, as I did, but that was only a sliver of shares - c. 1% of my PF, so I won't panic even if things are rocky early doors.

Next results/progress report might well show this business is being kicked into shape at last. Here's hoping they get it back to how it was five years ago, & if it takes a year or two, that's OK.

And the share price is back to whence it came. No surprise there, without some form of corporate activity to give some support
